Hell, we can still keep rebuilding somewhat with solid young talent while winning games next season.

Perfect scenario came true.

Edit: See BrotherDave? Just gotta have faith baby!

Wait, did we trade Al to move into the top 5?

Who do you want at 9 that you think won't be there at 12?

Other than McDermott, I think we're looking at the same group of players at 12: LaVine, Young and Stauskas.
I agree with jdm3. I'm not trading down in this draft, not yet. Somebody very talented is going to slip, somebody almost always does. Moving to 12 can be the difference in missing out on somebody like Randle.

This, but Noah Vonleh instead of Randle.

What is with this Noah Vonleh ****? If we want a mediocre PF we can just make an offer for Ed Davis.

Not once.

I still find it amazing that after being in the world for 39 years, I have never been gifted 100 billion dollars by some mysterious stranger.

Not once.

Not even 1 billion dollars.

You really think he is mediocre? He seems like the best PF prospect in the draft. Prototypical size, good athleticism, pretty skilled, and has some range. Idk, I haven't seen him a ton but he seems pretty good. If we can sign Lance Stephenson (the only FA SG I'd be interested in) and he falls or we can trade up he seems like the best option for what we need, assuming we can't get into the Wiggins/Exum/Embiid range.

In any scenario where we sign Lance taking Lavine at 9 could be the best option since we wouldn't have nearly as much as an immediate need at SG and we could allow him to develop. Barring any FA plans I'm torn between Stauskas and Young. I'm leaning towards Stauskas at the moment but I like Young's aggressiveness and swag.

I'm not sure why people want Mcdermont. I'm sure hes a fine prospect but I doubt hes a better prospect than MKG given his age and I don't see us wanting to pair a 6'8 220 pound PF next to Al. Our interior defense would be nonexistent. I just don't see the point.

I honestly think the best plan would just be to take Stauskas, Young, or Lavine at 9 if we can't make any deal to move up for one of the big stars, take Shabazz at 24 if he is available and save our cap space (maybe spend a little to fill out our roster if needed, specifically a backup PG if we can't draft Shabazz). I like PJ Hairston at 24 too. I don't want Monroe at all. If Al wasn't here I would be all for it, and I would honestly rather have him than Al going forward but Al isn't going anywhere and thus he really is a terrible fit with this roster. We have so many options now it is crazy. This should be an amazing offseason as long as our front office doesn't completely blow it.

Still Buzzing after getting #9! The Hornets name has brought new (old) luck to town.

However, the outrageousness of CLE getting yet another #1 has sunk in. Hopefully its another last straw to make the league change the draft process. Ridonkulous!

He just never looked more than average to me. His offense looks really basic and predictable and his steal number isn't great (a good indicator of in game athleticism and D awareness for bigs). Not explosive and not an area of need.

Legitimately surprised to wake up and see that we had lottery luck for a change. Definitely takes the sting (heh) off of losing out own pick from the Tyrus trade.

Pistons don't really have anything of substance to offer other than Monroe, and if we wanted him we could just sign him outright in FA

Pretty much, and that's why "talks never got serious." I'm sure they were devastated to lose that pick to Charlotte as they were seriously planning on drafting Doug McDermott to solve their spacing issues alongside Drummond & Smith
