You really think he is mediocre? He seems like the best PF prospect in the draft. Prototypical size, good athleticism, pretty skilled, and has some range. Idk, I haven't seen him a ton but he seems pretty good. If we can sign Lance Stephenson (the only FA SG I'd be interested in) and he falls or we can trade up he seems like the best option for what we need, assuming we can't get into the Wiggins/Exum/Embiid range.
In any scenario where we sign Lance taking Lavine at 9 could be the best option since we wouldn't have nearly as much as an immediate need at SG and we could allow him to develop. Barring any FA plans I'm torn between Stauskas and Young. I'm leaning towards Stauskas at the moment but I like Young's aggressiveness and swag.
I'm not sure why people want Mcdermont. I'm sure hes a fine prospect but I doubt hes a better prospect than MKG given his age and I don't see us wanting to pair a 6'8 220 pound PF next to Al. Our interior defense would be nonexistent. I just don't see the point.
I honestly think the best plan would just be to take Stauskas, Young, or Lavine at 9 if we can't make any deal to move up for one of the big stars, take Shabazz at 24 if he is available and save our cap space (maybe spend a little to fill out our roster if needed, specifically a backup PG if we can't draft Shabazz). I like PJ Hairston at 24 too. I don't want Monroe at all. If Al wasn't here I would be all for it, and I would honestly rather have him than Al going forward but Al isn't going anywhere and thus he really is a terrible fit with this roster. We have so many options now it is crazy. This should be an amazing offseason as long as our front office doesn't completely blow it.
