I'm calling it - Carmelo opts out - and he isn't staying, Felton will get traded (at least that is what they have told him), they don't have a SF, they don't have any picks. Other than that how was the play Ms. Lincoln? They need to trade some of those SGs for a SF or two.
Really not a good trade partner right now - we don't really want their FC players other than Chandler.
I just don't see this team making the playoffs, think we can pickup Kenyon Martin?
Edit 6-25: Carmelo Opts-out, Chandler, Felton out - Calderon, Dalembert and Shane Larkin in.
Edit 6-27: Cleanthony Early, SF, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, SF, Louis Labeyrie C - pretty shocked to see Early drop into the second round. Makes the trade even better for NY. If Anthony doesn't opt-in, NY will be under the luxury. Next year they would only have $18M in committed contracts.
USA Today: Entering Wednesday, the Knicks had no draft picks. The Tyson Chandler brought in two, and they bought the last one from the Indiana Pacers for cash. Early might be the best second-rounder in this draft, and he is a perfect fit for the triangle offense that New York may install. Antetokounmpo has great athleticism and, while not as talented as his younger brother, is another player who could make the Knicks' roster next year. Labeyrie likely will be kept overseas for a few years. Overall, this is a very nice haul for a team expecting nothing. Grade: A
Edit: Melo resigns
