The point of the measuring is to figure out what kind of player you're getting. Someone can wear massive platform shoes to measurements, but would obviously not be able to in a game.
This x1000.
Though if they're actually measured heights, as opposed to "listed heights", I don't have as much of a problem with in-shoes measurements. Still, separate with and without shoes measurements would be ideal.
what about up to shoulder heights also, for Zach Randolph cases

that's wrong, too. there are a bunch of players in the draftexpress database under 6'9 in shoes with at least a 7' wingspan, from drafts other than the upcoming one.
some notable ones:
Al-Farouq Aminu
Anthony Bennett
Arsalan Kazemi
Melo
Danny Granger
Josh Howard
Kawhi Leonard
Lazar Hayward
Lebron
Lonny Baxter
Marshon Brooks
Coby Karl (in 2006)
Marvin Williams
Mike Sweetney
Nic Batum
Otto Porter
Paul Millsap
Shawne Williams
Shelden Williams
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Thomas Robinson
Tristan Thompson
Wesley Johnson
Vyacheslav Kravtsov

+1. When someone asks me how tall I am, I never go "well in shoes I'm....."
I'm 6'7 in shoes & that's the height I give to people.

Hyperdunks made my Achilles sore as hell
What year? Sound like 2010s.

Ain't like they get measured in heels at these combines either, like it's such a big difference from different basketballshoes.. and if they get measured in these shoes at that and that size, I guess they will play in these type of shoes as well, which makes it their ingame height..SaintofKillers wrote:I always find it funny when some people react like the disparity between barefoot and in-shoes are a huge deal.
Don't get me wrong, it's a fun measurement to have (i.e. Josh Howard being listed as 6'5" in the NBA press kit for years when he's 6'5.5" barefoot) but doesn't really mean jack. In the end, they'll be playing with shoes on.
