I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

This video breaks down Parker vs NBA length. He struggles big time in the post against NBA length and athleticism.

He is the wild card, I thnk it could be Parker or outside chance even of Exum if he looks real good in the workouts. Embiid is boom or bust. Is it worth the risk?

Sounds like what people said about Tobes. Now he's doing offseason training against Melo and more than holding his own.

I just get the feeling that there is no superstar n this draft. Wiggins has just as big of flaws as Parker.Chapter29 wrote:crkone wrote:Chapter29 wrote:This is the worry I have with Parker. Not quick enough to play SF and not big enough to play PF.

So therefor I shouldn't worry? Yeah...still worried. This is a pick that needs to net a superstar.

They also have videos that show Wiggins struggling against Smart and Embiid struggling against NBA caliber bigs. All of these videos should be taken with a huge grain of salt because they are a small snapshot of a 19 year old kid playing basketball. None of these guys are any where near where they are going to be.

I was one of the few who wanted CP at that time. The last player I thought who was going to be a superstar was Durant. The only player I think who has a chance is Exum, but very iffy at best. There is no top guy.Chapter29 wrote:msiris wrote:I just get the feeling that there is no superstar n this draft. Wiggins has just as big of flaws as Parker.Chapter29 wrote:

Perhaps. There is no question that I fear we miss on a superstar. That's the ultimate worry.
I think there is at least 1 superstar in this draft. I am not sold its the 3/4 players we talk about everyday here. I fear we select the consensus players over the Chris Paul (from our last swing at this) in this draft.
I continue to maintain that superstars are almost always a good defender. I don't see Parker ever being a good defender. Therefor I fear he would be just a Big Dog if you will and that would suck.

I don't agree. As I see Wiggins as a pretty good defender already and I don't feel the same about Parker. Embiid is a bit more of a work in progress but he will absolutely become a good defender in the NBA IMO. This highlights my concerns with Parker.
