Who cares about Marshon Brooks. He's an undersized to average sized SG with terrible bball IQ.... he is a chucker who can't pass and has no vision. Exum is an extremely tall PG who moves lightning quick with the ball and I bet he's significantly smarter on the court. The potential for mismatches are through the roof for Exum.

The same combine numbers that say Cody Zeller is more athletic than Dwight?? Cmon man..Gotta use context
What are Zeller's number's compared to Dwight?
zeller vs howard:
35.5" vs 30.5" no step vert
37.5" vs 35.5" max vert
10.82 vs 11.21 lane agility
3.15 vs 3.14 3/4 sprint
17 v 7 bench press
Oh and when you compare players you should also look at their weight in addition to their wingspan and reach. You have to assemble the players in the right category before you can compare them.

I said "lightning quick WITH the ball."
Just stop it. You're trying too hard to hate on exum. You can like smart and also find good in exum, too.

Weird... because it was only a month ago when you used the term yourself...

i truly wonder about this. His agent is pushing him to be called a PG, but everything that i have seen scouts say that his true position will probably be a SG, where he isnt suddenly such a big player.

I am still pro Dante, but this kinda confirms my suspicions about the guy: he may not be as skilled and smart as people think he is. If you compound that with average athleticism, this pick has a bust potential more so than Smart pick would have.
Exum having higher bust potential isn't anything new. Teams want him for his insane potential, not because he's a safe pick.
Do you think Exum could just end up being Marshon Brooks type player? Brooks is a better athlete and could've put up the same numbers as Exum in the same situations.
We're being trolled.

Say what?
-Marshon Brooks measured in extremely well at 6-4 1/4 without shoes with a gigantic 7-1 wingspan, further adding to the strong buzz he has going for himself heading into the month of June. His wingspan is just an inch shorter than the likes of Josh Howard, Trevor Ariza and Tracy McGrady, players who saw more time at small forward than shooting guard in the NBA. For comparison's sake, the average power forward drafted in the first round has a 7-1.8 wingspan, while Brooks is clearly a shooting guard skill-wise.

For what it's worth, I do agree with you that it's a bad comparison.

I'm aware of Brooks' wingspan, but as a SG he still looks average sized at best to me. His standing reach doesn't jump off the charts like his wingspan and he was 6'5 under 200 pounds at 23 years old. If he was a PG, like we're talking about Exum, then he wouldn't look so average...

When drawing up these comparisons you have to look at the weight also and they were close to the same weight. I see you did list the weight. For example Noah Vonleh's vertical was top 8 all-time for a player over 240.
Thanks for the chart.

Redick is a good athlete. When doing comparisons you have to take size and weight into consideration. For example it is more impressive for a guy 6'8" 240 to jump 35" than it is for a guy 6'5" 190 lbs. to jump 42 inches. I'm sure if you had the time and perhaps got paid for it you could use analytics to find out what is an average vertical for the size of a player.

Anyone else see similarities in Exum and Ginobli and Parker? I think he's a mixture of both guys.

He does like Ginobili's game...
When asked which NBA players he compares himself to, Exum said that he has watched a lot of Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook and San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili among others.
“I can’t look at one player and say that’s who I play like, but I can see different traits that players have that I see: I look at Russell Westbook as that explosive point guard that can get to the rim, and also Manu Ginobili when he gets into the paint and the way he can finish,” Exum said. “It’s just looking at different players and what they can do, and how that can help my game.”
