Nobody knows what deals were on the table, but you'd be lying if you said you weren't disappointed in light of all the rumours of better deals being out there. If this is the best thing on the table we might've been better suited waiting til the trade deadline. People can say this adds flexibility, but now if we are in trade talks with a team that wants a vet, we don't have anybody good to throw into the trade

I'm not disappointed. Fournier is a 21 year old that has shown flashes who is good enough to be a late lotto pick in this draft. I also don't let myself get excited over twitter rumors.

Well what were you expecting for afflalo if you don't put any stock in rumours?

I wasn't expecting anything really. I knew that he would be traded but I didn't have any idea what he would be traded for.

I don't think it points to anything, we could still take vonleh and payton, we have 2 draft picks, everybody expects us to get a pg with one of them

Think of it this way. Evan F. would be a late lottery pick in this years draft.

Why? Look at his adjusted stats per 40mpg.

He's a 17/5/4 guy against NBA talent right now. Noone wants to give me a 10-20 pick for Afflalo? Okay, I'll get a young guy who I have data on.

Hennigan may have done it again. I'm cautiously optimistic to see.

Today's NBA is analytics. Speculation not based on data has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Right now, there is a huge information gap between GMs and fans.

I think we are very well still in play to move up. We could engage Philly and Cleveland in trade talks still but for the 3rd and not the first

I can see a scenario that looks like

Cle gets: #4 (Embiid), #12

Philly gets, #1(Wiggins)

Orl gets, #3(Whoever Bucks dont take; probably Exum) and contract of Jarrett Jack

I could also seeing Nelson getting flipped somewhere else for another pick, Maybe LA for Nash and 7th???

I'd be content with #3, #7 and #56

Well I wanted to move up to draft Stauskas, but Fournier sounds just as good if not bettet. Just wish we could've got anothet asset, the 11th pick and Fournier would've been a great trade.

Still have no idea who we're targeting at #12

nah, he changed it a while ago. At least 3 weeks, maybe a month. I do think they told him though because his last tweet was "enough is enough". Then a day or two later you got the story saying AA is open to being traded.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

If Henny trades Dipo, he will lose my confidence. This is not because I think Dipo is untouchable and/or a superstar in the making, but Henny would be negating his decision to pick him just a year ago should he trade him away.

If we trade Dipo + 4 + 12 to Cleveland, that means we have Wiggins or Parker to show for 2 years of taking and collecting assets.

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.

"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

Not that bad actually, we need a guy with Fornier's skills (high 3p% guy with potential to grow more).

I agree. I needed time to really evaluate the deal outside the context of the whole rumors of trading up for the #1 pick. It's a good deal; similar to the JJ Redick trade. Young, mid-1st round draft pick still on rookie contract with nice per 36 stats.

Who knows what will happen, but I don't think you'll see us making a move like that.

Good post.

except no one plays 40mpg. Show me his stats at 31mpg, that is more realistic. then you are talking about 13/3.5/2 as a starter.

Such a strange trade. Really liked Afflalo. Good character guy, enjoyed mentoring the young guys, and didn't mind playing for a rebuilding team. I hope there is more to this trade.

So he's had the twitter egg profile pic for a few weeks now?

I miss the era of this board without twitter, we had to be way more creative, fewer rumors.

It is just us, its everybody who writes and talks about basketball, its the rumours that say we turned down a deal for the ninth pick or that we are packaging him for the first pick, national sports writers saying afflalo is a top 4 sg etc etc, it isn't like, oh wow, this board is overrating afflalo

So because other people are saying that it makes it true? Not to mention none of those people are even affiliated with actual NBA teams. If we could have gotten the 8th pick we would have. Or do you think Rob just took a worse deal on purpose?
wish I could and 1 on my phone......I agree, people aren't using the gray matter they were born with..... We don't know what deals were on the table and henny wouldn't take a worse deal if a better one was on the table...... Come on people think
