I couldn't tell much the difference
You commented specifically on the court vision in your post. That was what I shot down and proved against an extra assist per game minus any more turnovers is significant. Also if you look at the teams it was a lot easier to get assists than Stauskas. Stauskas had one double digit scorer who shot above 45% from the field vs 3 for Jacobsen and two above 55%. He racked up some easy assist with the Collins twins on the inside. As for shooting and defense they are very close. Never thought of Jacobsen as quite as much of an athlete but they are not far off.
Do I really have to go back to my original post about the comparison? OK, I will...Nik Stauskas = Casey Jacobsen
Like it or not, that's what it is. I've come to grips with it upon further review of Stauskas' lack of defense, and overrated court vision. Jacobsen was a very similar, almost identical prospect coming out of Stanford over a decade ago
'very similar'; almost identical;' are the choice words I used

Which is not the same case between the two. Comparing their court vision given the information I provided is not even worthy of mention. Their court vision was on entirely different levels given the situations for both players in their sophomore years. Thank you for not making me go back and point out your flaws by reposting.

No
Let's say McDermott + Stauskas are tied going in. Had they added Afflalo at SG, would they have been more inclined to draft McDermott?

I didn't use 'overrated court vision' in a form to compare. Read it again and then comprehend how the phrase was used

With Neal on the roster, SF still has less depth and perimeter shooting than SG

So you think had they added Afflalo at SG, upgrading a position of existing depth, they would have been more likely to draft a SF like McDermott?

You mention two issues and then say they are similar. No matter how you want to twist it you are implying both had overrated court vision on a similar scale. You say that because of lack of defense and overrated court vision you find the players similar. If you did not mean to include it you should have not put it in or needed to rephrase your entire argument.

I don't recall Jacobsen having a anything-rated court vision so I wasn't comparing their aspects in that regard. However, I think the court vision aspect of Stauskas' game is being thrown around to gingerly as if he could seriously spell as a starting point guard if Kemba were injured. Stauskas can't handle legit on-ball pressure. He's just slightly above average at it for a shooting guard, but he's no James Harden or Andre Iguodala

No, I think they're destined to add a combo guard in Gary Harris or Elfrid Payton regardless, and that they'd take Doug McDermott if they choose to go with wing shooting. I don't even think Stauskas is in the deck of cards anymore unless the aforementioned prospects are gone

Why do you believe they are looking to upgrade Henderson with a combo guard after they just tried to upgrade Henderson with Afflalo? Afflalo is not a combo guard. He is more like Stauskas.

I think they are looking to upgrade Kemba and/or Henderson, and see him (Kemba) as a possible trade chip down the line pending his extension negotiations. Higgins isn't in office now, so it's Cho's free reign to build the team as he like
