we have no idea about what the nature of that relationship is. this hasn't been the first time ive gotten the sense theres a little too much "fanboism" going on in our ownership group.

According to reports, Lasry at one time was Kidd's financial advisor.

Financial panther, eh? Get him, Sheba!

Has kidd ever worked a trade deadline fetching offers and making offers?
He's sat in on two drafts, one draft in 2013 where he couldn't of done any previous work since he was hired 10 days before the draft.
He's never hired a HC or GM
Does he actually know how to scout draft prospects and how they project?

What he has done is piss off his current organization enough that they want him to leave, and he can't even do that quietly without everyone knowing it. Oh yea he also pissed off his top assistant enough to banish him from the team, oh ya after he gave Frank a 6 year deal for a freaking assistant.

We all do it here on RealGM every draft and trade deadline, doesn't seem to hard. We all seem to value our opinions on those matters despite having no qualifications. Who would you rather have negotiate a trade, John Hammond, Herb Kohl, or Jason Kidd? I imagine this is where "having balls" comes most in play. Not being a push over is a huge plus in my book. Lets not pretend like Kidd is going to running this entire team completely solo either.

We all give our opinion as fans and enjoy the discussion as being avid fans, but lets not confuse this with running an organization.

No 4th option? it's like asking who you want running your portfolio the kid next door taking a college econ class or brenie madolf.

And when your dealing with 29 other organizations, its good to be the jackass in the room.

No players can be traded, so I hate to burst your bubble, but uh... Image

Thats a legal trade by itself, so it can be easily done as compensation if kidd is released per that agreement.

If Kidd were to be fired and then we hired him, sure, but if we attempted to trade any players to Brooklyn or vice versa in the deal, it would be vetoed before the rumor of it even hit Twitter.

I like how some idiot disqualified Kidd because of his "SAT scores"

yeah tell me more about the stupidity of a multi-millionaire who is about to get his next job because of his close relationship with a billionaire.

Explain it to me someone, these numbers mean nothing to us foreign types.

It's a standardized test for college admissions. Those are incredibly low scores. Don't know what it was like back then but the new one has a scoring range of 600-2400 in 10 point increments. Those would be some of the lowest scores one could possibly get I'm guessing.

If those scores are accurate, I'm going to take a wild guess and assume Kidd has a learning disability.

FWIW a quick google search has Kidd show up on lists of famous people with dyslexia and ADHD

A lot of this will depend on who we hire at GM and coach, and how much true power the GM has (Kidd seems like the type that would easily overrule a GM on any decision). On the surface I despise this move.

lol, running a team is a bit different to playing basketball. It does require basic comprehension skills.

Well I guess this is pretty much happening if we're exchanging compensation offers with them.

Sigh.

And FA starts what Tuesday and Trade talks are currently going on and Hammond is figure head at this point.

If the Kidd deal doesn't go through, who the hell is running things?

Yeah, I'm against this move for many reasons, but the guy's SAT scores are not one of them. Especially not if he has disabilities that put him at a disadvantage academically. Just ignorant even bringing that stuff up.

I read the tweet as saying that we turned down giving up a 1st round pick, but if you click the link, it sounds like we turned down providing any compensation at all. Stay strong Milwaukee brass! Don't give in when they're going to fire the guy anyways. We don't need him that badly.

Well this was completely unexpected.

I don't mind giving Kidd a crack at President of Basketball Operations. I would mind giving up a first round pick for him.

It won't be a 1st round pick, a future 2nd of which we have a ton of or cash. Whatever, not going to lose any sleep over that amount of compensation.

Did you guys read that article where one of the last straws for him was when Brooklyn didn't pull a trigger on a deal that would have sent Larry and Ersan to Brooklyn for Brook Lopez and Mirza Teletovic?

And we all hope he does, but there's no reason to think he is capable of doing it at this moment.

Can anybody give me an example of what your afraid that Kidd might do as POBO that would be so bad?
