1) Jo began the offseason saying that he'll recruit Melo and that his stipulation to the FO was that Taj stayed. Well, here Jo is..bringing Taj to the recruiting meeting.
2) No player would ever come help a team recruit a superstar player to help them get a title if the meeting ended with him not being a part of it. Just doesn't make sense.
3) We've known what our selling point would be all along: we're the most ready to help Melo get a title next year. Why? Defense, effort, the grit. Taj and Jo. We're bringing the physical embodiment of our sales pitch to the meeting. Again, the whole thing would be ruined if it ended with us breaking it up.
I hope this still means we keep Jimmy. And it's out of the question we'll keep McDermott. Do we make it out of this with Mirotic still? Still some questions left, but not about Taj.
Very apt. Compeltely agree. I would just add:
4) This hurts our chances to get Melo if NY isnt willing to play ball on a sign and trade.
On another note this does seem to be instigated by Noah. I appreciate the hell out his loyalty. It is basically along the same lines as Rose not wanting to recruit other players as it would mean some of his teammates would be out. Actually, its basically the same damn principle the difference being Noah narrowed his stand to a particular player i.e. Taj. Guess Jimmy is on his own
