Who are the Knicks assured of getting next year?

All of those guys may not even make it to free agency.

Supposedly Gasol. Makes sense given he fits the triangle perfectly.

"lots of variables"

on this board, the other teams have the variables, but our two knees operated superstar is not a variable..? Our coach and GM who hate each other? Noah with his knee history?

Knicks could be better than us in a year. Probably low chances, but there is some chance of it. We can't guarantee the Knicks are going to be horrible and we're going to be amazing.

We pretty much have nowhere to go but up. I know your trying to be reasonable, but let's be honest the Knicks weren't better than us with Felton and Chandler so adding Calderon and Dalembert doesn't make that much of a difference.

If you didn't expect the Knicks (specifically Dolan) to offer the full max offer, you're a fool. This was the biggest no-brainer of the summer.

That's kinda what "lots of variables means." Not sure why you quoted me.

Even if the Knicks got Rondo, they still go nowhere with Miami and Chicago.

The Knicks also have a rookie head coach who's never coached a day in his life and has to teach an offense that is notoriously very difficult to master. Unless their plan involves Lebron or Kevin Love, who are they going to acquire that can dramatically impact their championship aspirations from the start? They need a lot of help.

We might as well take Aldridge off that list POR already offering the max.

Gasol's a good player, but they're going to need more than that.

Sorta. The trading of Chandler hurt a bit but they have two huge contracts coming off the books still. Boozer might make a third and Phil can go into full rebuild mode.

Two? Amare and who? Also I think by your response you thought I meant sign and trade with Melo to the Bulls since you included Booz in the mix... I meant if Melo stays in NY and signs for 130 over 5 years, that will really hurt their rebuilding process. If I was the Knicks - I honestly wouldn't want Melo because I would prefer the cap space and to make a full rebuild. Its going to take a long time to right that ship.

2 with bargs. Is he 2015?

Oh you're right- I forgot he even existed. And my brother and some of my friends are Knicks fans so that says something...haha

Damn the legacy, MJ probably gonna be up in Melo's ear "go to Chicago and lets go make this shoe money". I know I'm dropping money for some red and black Melo's.

I doubt love honestly. The other three I can see potentially but trades can also be made. I really think love is going to be a laker.

The Knicks weren't even better than the Bulls last year without Derrick and Luol and with a healthy Melo. They have no system in place, an unproven coach, and only a handful of magic beans for summer 2015 and not even that many franchise changing superstars on the market.

Yep. Love might get traded this summer. NYK will have flexibility after sacrificing yet another year, but man, the upside is very uncertain.

Makes sense.

I want him to take the dough. It would really hurt the Knicks.

I meant both, pretty obviously. No matter what he chooses, there's a billion moving parts involved.
