Unless Melo negotiates a "no trade" clause.
The super max will, essentially- along with his age- make him untradeable. He signs for 5/130- he is all yours til the bitter end.
People here have been advocating a Boozer S&T, where the Bulls would get him near his max, so really the only difference would have been the last year. If Melo is near the player some are suggesting here, they would have time to move him, especially to a city that has a hard time attracting FAs.
I am not one of those the think Melo is worth anywhere near the max, but for those that think he is a great player, and were willing to give him near max salary, by attaching multiple assets to Boozer, i a S&T, can not have it both ways.
