NOW Joakim's tweet makes sense (to me)...Derrick probably felt some type of way having to do this.

When you already have generational wealth? Yup I would say yes

The only way I'm leaving that money on the table, is if something is going on under the table and I'm GUARANTEED to win titles.

That's all I have to say about that.

That's way too much money. Plus endorsements? That's a mighty fine life, and in NYC.

Would love for him to come to Chicago but I don't see it happening.

Big up to Rose. I've been big critic of his stance... I think he went above and beyond lacing up.... I think I'm more happy he bought in then if we landed Melo honestly.

Good for you, D-Rose. Bravo.

I bet if he never talked to a reporter the other day and raised questions about it, he never would have done this. The way the media ran with that story, he probably felt terrible and like he needed to do some damage control before fans and media blamed him when Melo doesn't come....

either that, or Gar and Pax asked him to do it.

if true thats really not a good foot to start out on with your new teammate. D.Rose and Melo have to develop some on court chemistry, it'll be tough if D.Rose secretly hates him

Personally, I'd take the BIG money and play for the BIG market team. That's me. Don't be me Melo, don't be me. :nonono:

not saying i know what he is going to do.

But we can honestly trade him a year or two down the road. He is still one of the best players in the game. We also could trade him to 29 teams instead of him picking his destination.

I don't see how bringing back one of the best players in basketball is is a negative.

just thought I would mention that.

Unless Melo negotiates a "no trade" clause.

The super max will, essentially- along with his age- make him untradeable. He signs for 5/130- he is all yours til the bitter end.

People here have been advocating a Boozer S&T, where the Bulls would get him near his max, so really the only difference would have been the last year. If Melo is near the player some are suggesting here, they would have time to move him, especially to a city that has a hard time attracting FAs.

I am not one of those the think Melo is worth anywhere near the max, but for those that think he is a great player, and were willing to give him near max salary, by attaching multiple assets to Boozer, i a S&T, can not have it both ways.

Brilliant move by the Bulls to sabotage other teams' talking points. When Dallas and Houston bring up Rose's knees tomorrow, Melo is going to have an image of Derrick doing a windmill dunk and raining 3's less than 24 hours earlier. It might have been demeaning to Rose but him taking one for the team just destroys one of the primary negatives for Chicago.

I thought you were certain he was going to the Heat and that Lebron did not want a max contract? Your crazy ramblings are my new signature when this is all over.

yes, 27 and 8 last year he is really terrible. You can't tell me your fan base thinks he is the player that will put them over the hump for a championship and then you tell me we can have him and will stink with him. It doesn't make sense.

If he chooses Chicago then that is fine, I hope a more than fair S&T can be worked out. But basking him makes no sense.

You are rebuilding team with a lot of age.

We do have the better coach, and team. Who is your starting center, sg. We are missing a primary scorer. Melo fits our weakness very well.

Having Melo in your position is like having a 62 inch 3d tv and no house. He

I think the best part about the whole dinner with Melo was when Tony Snell started to talk, scaring everyone senseless, because nobody realized he was there.

He has made generational wealth. He will make at least another 80 million no matter his decision. He does not have 12 kids. He been smart. So far.

i mean what can you do with

I think that last season is overrated, ya its guaranteed money but assuming melo doesnt get "seriously" hurt he will make that money back on his next deal. So what is the difference between making 70 million and 100 million? what can you do with 100 mil that you cant with 70?

and that doesnt even factor in the money he has made up until this point.

If he goes for the money im cool with it, but unless he is an idiot with his money he will be fine if he lives to be 468 years old.

it seems kind of degrading to me...at least what I'm imagining. Rose couldn't have done this willingly. I have a feeling he may not be too happy. I hope that isn't the case. I hope I'm reaching....
