Much of it was over the top and personal. Again, if this doesn't apply to you then great, but it's not like we can't go dig up some of the more bitter and personal attacks on the guy that were posted on the very forum only within the past few days.
I beg to differ wrote:Hokie wrote:Agreed. The nonsense that has been said about Rose over the last few days has been so beyond over the top. To be frank, it's been embarrassing.
But it wasn't baseless. Rose spelled it out that he won't recruit. In this era, that's not doing everything it takes to weeun. Maybe Noah changed his mind, I don't know. But it would be disingenuous to claim that the way Rose went hard after Melo today was predictable. The context at which Rose stated (at least twice) that recruiting wasn't his job, was when he was asked whether or not he will recruit. It's also not out of the realm of possibilities that the media questioning his recruiting was part of the reason he did an about face. His earlier statements are not consistent with what he did today.
And I think it's incredibly admirable that he went to bat for the team, after what he said.

Phil Jackson was definitely a good long term move, but a team that has one playoff series victory in 15 years isn't going to all of a sudden be a contender because of him and Fisher alone.
Realistically, unless they make a HUGE FA splash in the next couple years (LeBron/Durant level), they aren't going anywhere for the next 3-4 years without Melo, and if they keep him and pay him the max they might be even worse off.
Edit: That post suggesting Gibson/Butler/McDermott/Mirotic and picks for a trade really stood out to me on my visit to the Knicks forum. Melo wants Gibson and reportedly Butler to stay. They might get one out of McDermott/Mirotic along with Snell, picks, and expirings, but I doubt they get anymore if this does end up as a S&T.

whoa! if it is that has so much potential.
It will be cool to see the different design they have for Bulls and hawks games. Surprised nobody new about this.

They are straight up delusional if they think they have any shot at Gibson + Butler + McDermott + Mirotic. I don't even do that deal if it's a straight up trade midseason. That's gutting your team and gets you nowhere.
Here's how I see it in a S&T.
Bulls: Melo
Knicks: Mirotic, Dunleavy, Snell, non guarantees, SAC pick, 2015 Bulls/Cavs* (lotto protected)
OR. Chicago takes back JR Smith too

I still think Ralph's proposed trade makes a lot of sense. We get Melo, Knicks get Mirotic and MDJ, and Philly gets Boozer & two picks.
