How funny would it be if we traded Niko and he never came over to play for the team we traded him to? lol

Again, if this doesn't apply to you then great, but it's not like we can't go dig up some of the more bitter and personal attacks on the guy that were posted on the very forum only within the past few days.

While I think the assumption was at least understandable, you're right about extreme personal shots. No room for that.

But it wasn't baseless. Rose spelled it out that he won't recruit. In this era, that's not doing everything it takes to weeun. Maybe Noah changed his mind, I don't know. But it would be disingenuous to claim that the way Rose went hard after Melo today was predictable. The context at which Rose stated (at least twice) that recruiting wasn't his job, was when he was asked whether or not he will recruit. It's also not out of the realm of possibilities that the media questioning his recruiting was part of the reason he did an about face. His earlier statements are not consistent with what he did today.

And I think it's incredibly admirable that he went to bat for the team, after what he said.

It depends what you define as recruiting. Showing up to a meeting with a guy who has already expressed interest in the Bulls isn't exactly the same as personally reaching out.

whoa! if it is that has so much potential.

It will be cool to see the different design they have for Bulls and hawks games. Surprised nobody new about this.

That old ESPN article where the Bulls were then Nugget, Carmelo Anthony's #1 landing spot, all the kind things Melo said about the Bulls and the organization as a New York Knick, Melo's questions about the Thibs coaching experience, The conversations with Noah over months, Pip traveling to France with Melo, Thibs being friends with Leon Rose and querying Boeheim, The Bulls throwing the kitchen sink to woo Melo today and meeting for 9 hours, Rose showing up. You gotta dare to dream for tonight.

I've seen Knicks fans bring up Phil and the Triangle by saying "we now employ the system that won a bunch of championships"... Do they realize you kinda need the players to carry out that system?

Phil Jackson was definitely a good long term move, but a team that has one playoff series victory in 15 years isn't going to all of a sudden be a contender because of him and Fisher alone.

Realistically, unless they make a HUGE FA splash in the next couple years (LeBron/Durant level), they aren't going anywhere for the next 3-4 years without Melo, and if they keep him and pay him the max they might be even worse off.

Edit: That post suggesting Gibson/Butler/McDermott/Mirotic and picks for a trade really stood out to me on my visit to the Knicks forum. Melo wants Gibson and reportedly Butler to stay. They might get one out of McDermott/Mirotic along with Snell, picks, and expirings, but I doubt they get anymore if this does end up as a S&T.

They are straight up delusional if they think they have any shot at Gibson + Butler + McDermott + Mirotic. I don't even do that deal if it's a straight up trade midseason. That's gutting your team and gets you nowhere.

Here's how I see it in a S&T.

Bulls: Melo + amnesty Boozer
Knicks: Mirotic, Dunleavy, Snell, non guarantees, SAC pick, 2015 Bulls/Cavs* (lotto protected)

OR. Chicago takes back JR Smith too

I still think Ralph's proposed trade makes a lot of sense. We get Melo, Knicks get Mirotic and MDJ, and Philly gets Boozer & two picks.

Yeah I'd be all for that too. I've tossed Boozer to 76ers in 3 way deal proposals as well - it would make sense for them, especially since Embiid won't play this season. Good way to get bridge player who isn't going to handicap them long term, and gives them possibility of using his expiring deal in trade midseason.

Ive read every page. Wow.

Had the day off so stayed by the computer all day and night.

I woke up pretty pessimistic. After seeing every drip of the action/news today, I think I feel as good as I could about things.

Im thrilled to see S&T scenarios leak out. Combine that with the Knicks offering the max. Feels like authentic smoke for sure. Im also in the camp that believes Melo has to realize if the Bosh/Wade take less, maybe not as much as reported, but less in a big enough way to create decent cap space, getting past Miami will be next to impossible if he resigns in NY.

Im gonna pray a 3rd team is able to take Boozer. It would be epic to S&T and keep the MLE for a Gasol or Mirotic.

I hope Melo figures out his decision by the end of the weekend or monday, because some really good role players we may need w/ or w/ out Melo are going to get gobbled up by other teams.

It feels like Melo is coming and it freaks me out. My hopes are higher than they were in 2010 and I felt pretty good about our Lebron chances.

I know we all say we never get the big fish, but holy moly does this feel like a stars aligning situation for us to be on championship runs for the next 3-4 years at least.

P.S.
Can I formally pitch a new VH1 show called "LaLa and Larsa"? The show chronicles LaLa's move to Chicago. And follows Lala and Larsa doing whatever they do, around the Windy City.

That should persuade LaLa to ok the move! She can have a place in both cities anyway if she really wants.
Expect finite disappointment, but keep infinite hope
