Honestly, even if you add all five of those players to the Heat roster, I don't think that entices Lebron to stay at all.

To me, this would make no sense. Why take back a PG who can't shoot for another guard who can? It would hurt us IMO. I really hope this isn't true.

It is not true - it makes no sense. Dragic is better than Rondo and less expensive.

Yea I know. I was just mocking their overuse of the Celtics. :)

I know I read that a while back. It was quite good. You have a talent.

Well that sets the baseline for Bledsoe, he's better than lowry, but I think we all knew bled would get at least 12 a year.

It really doesn't. Bledsoe has to have a market. Many people thought Lowry was the most deserving all star snub...along with Dragic. I know you probably didn't see Lowry play much, but he was EXTREMELY STRONG this year.

He has started in most of the games he's played in for four years, has been in the league 8 years, and is REALLY good. Bledsoe has started half a season and been a backup for 4 years.

Lowry's #s this year. 17.7 ppg, 7.4 apg, 4.9 rpg, 1.5 spg, shot almost have his shots from 3, knocking down 38% (so that brought is overall % down to 42%). He is currently better offensively than Bledsoe but obviously not as good defensively.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... yky01.html

Bledsoe 17.7, 5.7, 4.7, 35.7% from 3, but better from 2. So actually pretty even. But he is injury prone. Based on half a season, you can give him at least 12, which is ok, but I wouldn't de-finitely say "he is better than Lowry".

He is the only pg left though. I'm just not sure if anyone wants to give a pg that much at this time.

We can't let him go for nothing. Maybe we should offer him 12, but you don't want him to turn that down, and force us to go higher. If he doesn't get an offer, I'd offer him 10 or 11. Maybe 11 and give him 12.

Last year a bunch of guys thought they'd get a lot more and ended up having to settle for a lot less. Monta, Teague, Jennings, etc. He's better than those guys, but those guys got around 8. They got over it.

Lets not give him so much that it forces us to let Dragic go next year because he deserves more. If we don't get LeBron, I'd say Bledsoe is very tradeable at a lower contract level, but he becomes hard to trade at 14, at least for a good return. And to be clear, I am not advocating trading him, but would if it came down as a choice between him and Dragic next year because we were capped out on a team that looked like a ceiling in the west of a 7-8 seed largely because our frontcourt of Kieff and Plumlee just couldn't cut it in the west, then we'd have to move someone.

Some teams will eventually decline and we SHOULD get better, but it's not a certainty. All teams think they will get better except for Philly. They have different goals.

I can see nick young going to Miami that would be a pretty underrated move

I agree that it would be underrated as Nick Young could be a lethal weapon with Wade/Lebron/Bosh, but I think Nick Young would want more play time, I guess Wade isn't the most durable player but I don't think in this stage of his career he wants to be a bench player.

You do realize they only have 2 players under contract right now, right? And one is Norris cole.

Could Gasol be a possibility for them? He's the only other big name free agent available no? Me thinks if Gasol signs anywhere other than Miami, Lebron is taking his talents elsewhere.

Things aren't looking good at the moment for Riley and the Heat in terms of building a credible team around LeBron. It has been noted that this time around players (like Kyle Lower, Pau Gasol, Luol Deng) aren't willing to take lower than market salary just to play in Miami. This leaves available only third tier players looking to ring chase. Also, it is being reported that not only did Bosh and Wade NOT agree to take lower salary, Bosh actually stated he wants 5/$90 (do the math  ). Although it's only 2 days into FA, nothing of significance has been reported concerning the Heat rebuild.

Things could turn around for the Heat tomorrow, but for now there is hope in Phoenix for getting the King.

Not that this wasn't a surprise, but does this open up more money for Melo or was this already in consideration before Melo visited Chicago?

He would have a Manu, harden type role.
The pacers/spurs series Miami went into huge droughts on offense.
Add a few scorers and they can beat anyone.

Ppl think Miami defense is the problem but they just lack scoring..
Can't let teams go on like 20-4 runs..
Nick young seems like a perfect fit

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Am I the only one who think the Raptors got a steal for signing Lowry at just $12M?

Is Lowry only $4M/yr better than freaking Avery Bradley?

Lowry deal allows us to set $12M as the highest we'll go for EB since while Bledsoe is younger, he's also way more injury prone than Lowry.

Maybe, I think he might be visiting them, but it sounds like OKC is the frontrunner with SA close behind.

I don't think he is. I heard something along the lines of, if money is scarce then Pau would want to play for the Spurs or Thunder. I think Pau wants to play for a contender but also get his last 8 figure paycheck in.

With the big 3 all they lack is scoring.
The talent can carry them but when you run into the west teams you have to score or you'll get ran over

I agree with this. I basically said about the same in my last post. And there is the fact that Toronto doesn't have another starting pg. We do. Not a whole lot of leverage there for Bledsoe. Not yet at least.
