honestly, it turned out to be the best thing for me. it greatly set me back at the time, but as the tunnel went deeper i got lucky that i had to quit on the semester, it forced me to quit the dead end job i was at and grab life by the **** horns. these days all i do now is deliver the paper, but shhh i deliver both the la times and daily news. i don't know if that's technically confict of interest or something but these days i don't care for petty legalities. besides the manager of the daily news caught my bro and i doing the la times route and asked us if we'd also like the daily news of that area  easy money, with that i was able to pay the bills no problem.

but man for the month i didn't have that secondary income like i had at my deadend day job, i literally clawed my dollars in. i did car tune-ups for drivers of the newspaper routes, recycled metal along with the tons of extra newspaper i rack up weekly and bought then repaired things on craigslist and re-sold them. i gotta say before all this i don't think i truly worked a hard day in my life, life knocked me off the high horse and right into a muddy ass puddle. but while i'm still not fully convinced nor matured, im beginning to understand this was all probably for the better in the long term. its really hard to try to see long term value in things when my mind demands the opposite but i'm learning to cope i suppose, it feels like tom hanks in big lol

I get that school isn't for everyone, but have you considered doing vocational jobs. decent pay and you don't have to go to school for a long time.

i didn't drop out of college, just had to quit on the semester by dropping all my classes as i couldn't afford not to work, things were rough at home as is with most homes here so work was priority. i lucked out by getting that daily news route and now im taking my summer classes as i freely choose, no more being tied to a day job. but anyway man, update on your life earl. tell me how the legend of earl came to be written. i can see you're far far far ahead of the earl i once knew

I just graduated this spring, but i'm taking one class to finish off my second major. It seems that me and my girl will be staying in Santa Cruz for the next two years. Im going back to community college to finish some requirements for med school and also need some time to study for the MCAT and make myself a better applicant.
Getting your life together aint easy man. I still haven't gotten my **** together, but i'm working on it. Im currently looking for a job that will let me flexible with part time school so I can pay rent and now the loans.

What are you going to school for anyways? Do you go to Pierce?

Wow thats great!!! thats what i mean by getting things on track man, you're on the rails and on your way. do you think you'll wind up calling santa cruz home? or are jobs in your field gonna be scarce in that area?

so now that you're done with school there you gotta pay the loans asap? even though you'll be enrolling at another school? i was under the impression if you were still in school your school loans could be put off until then?

i'm working on transferring at the moment. i'm at pierce and am still studying law in case the dream doesn't pan out. still hoping to get the d-league call up :noway: lol but yea right now i'm transitioning into pay off my car ASAP to relieve myself of the extra monthly cost and work on renting a house where I can work from. im a tax preparer and this year was my first season out there. i did really well, much better than expected which was literally was kept me afloat while the daily news job popped up and my la times route grew bigger.

I wouldn't want to live in Santa Cruz permanently. This is just a transition for me. I want to go to school to the east coast, but I do want to look for a job in LA for my career. and yes when you go back to school you can postpone your loans, but since I wont be going to med school for a few years, I have to start paying six months after I graduate.

What time do you have to get up to do that route? I remember when I used to work at coffee bean for the 5 am shift I would see guys dumping news papers all over the place. One thing I hate is waking up early.

a friend of mine did just that, she got a full ride at ann arbor and it was too good to pass up so she sadly left us for 2 years then came back to a career in LA. i thought if you were still enrolled at some accredited college that you could postpone the loans, man that sucks. nevertheless you're moving forward. what school are you lasering in on the east coast?

Right now for example, it's 12:40am so usually i'm sleeping by 9-11pm and awake by 1 or 3am. my timing is rarely consistent which i've been working on. ideally it'd be sweet to be asleep by 9, up by 12:45 and out of the door by 1:15. it usually takes us about 30 minutes to get fully awake, dressed and gone. i do the job with my younger bro and younger sis daily so we just smoke weed and deliver papers, much easier than any job i've had if you ignore the getting up in the middle of the night every night lol

University of Michigan, Dartmouth and some other ones have caught my attention, but yeah I think you need to be full time at school to defer your loans which is not something I want to do.
It was good seeing you man. I have to get back to this paper im doing. I get that you're busy, but try posting once in a while to see how you're doing. Nice talking with you.

yeah it's nice to have you back miggs. good to see you're doing well despite some of the circumstances. no worries man, you are on your way as well. probably on a different route than you have planned, but they say growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone.

in honor of miggs. I don't know exactly why but I remembered this video.

apparently playback isn't allowed :(

yea man its been a hell of a ride, i was real happy in that comfort zone or at least i should say, i thought i was happy. didn't know just how discontent i was until it all fell into pieces and required re-organizing. sort of like cleaning a messy room, once you start cleaning you can really flip things around and re-arrange it all.

some real dark days, specifically may 23, the worst **** day of my life. i'll remember the time and date forever man, could lose my memory tomorrow and somehow still have the memory of that day. thankfully its july 3rd now, and as with any bad day, the sun still sets and a new one rises so at least there's that. i've really missed the ct, but man had a falling out with a friend and needed some time away to regroup. i'm glad you guys all seem pretty well.

good to hear man. not going into the details of that date.

forgot when you left so just a quick rundown:

- got promoted
- currently doing my Master's Degree
- engaged

currently doing coaching gigs for women's basketball teams (drafting the list of their drills for their training in 20 minutes!) and training kids. also pursued my longtime frustration of playing the guitar (finally :P). what else... well, gym paid off and I think I gained more mass since everyone's noticing it.

There's more than one famous Chris Robinson DD, you need to be more specific for us common folks.
