honestly, it turned out to be the best thing for me. it greatly set me back at the time, but as the tunnel went deeper i got lucky that i had to quit on the semester, it forced me to quit the dead end job i was at and grab life by the **** horns. these days all i do now is deliver the paper, but shhh i deliver both the la times and daily news. i don't know if that's technically confict of interest or something but these days i don't care for petty legalities. besides the manager of the daily news caught my bro and i doing the la times route and asked us if we'd also like the daily news of that areaeasy money, with that i was able to pay the bills no problem.
but man for the month i didn't have that secondary income like i had at my deadend day job, i literally clawed my dollars in. i did car tune-ups for drivers of the newspaper routes, recycled metal along with the tons of extra newspaper i rack up weekly and bought then repaired things on craigslist and re-sold them. i gotta say before all this i don't think i truly worked a hard day in my life, life knocked me off the high horse and right into a muddy ass puddle. but while i'm still not fully convinced nor matured, im beginning to understand this was all probably for the better in the long term. its really hard to try to see long term value in things when my mind demands the opposite but i'm learning to cope i suppose, it feels like tom hanks in big lol
I get that school isn't for everyone, but have you considered doing vocational jobs. decent pay and you don't have to go to school for a long time.
i didn't drop out of college, just had to quit on the semester by dropping all my classes as i couldn't afford not to work, things were rough at home as is with most homes here so work was priority. i lucked out by getting that daily news route and now im taking my summer classes as i freely choose, no more being tied to a day job. but anyway man, update on your life earl. tell me how the legend of earl came to be written. i can see you're far far far ahead of the earl i once knew
I just graduated this spring, but i'm taking one class to finish off my second major. It seems that me and my girl will be staying in Santa Cruz for the next two years. Im going back to community college to finish some requirements for med school and also need some time to study for the MCAT and make myself a better applicant.
Getting your life together aint easy man. I still haven't gotten my **** together, but i'm working on it. Im currently looking for a job that will let me flexible with part time school so I can pay rent and now the loans.
What are you going to school for anyways? Do you go to Pierce?
