The offense he wants to run is out of the post. He has publicly said it. He tries it every year with different players, Boozer, Deng and then Taj this year. It never works too well because of the players.
Melo's skill set is exactly what Thibodeau wants. Ironically, its those same abilities that have Phil Jackson telling Melo the triangle can work for him.
Its too bad. Melo could have made a run at MVP had he come to Chicago. Virtually every possession would have run through him.
Why do you think playing out of the post is THE thing that Thibs wants to do? From what I've seen its just one of the things he wants to do on O.
The other thing is moving the ball around the perimeter, swinging it back and forth
Coldfish will be much better at it than me, but I think with Melo and Rose, our offense changes completely than years past. I see it Melo-centric via the post, along with Rose having isolation/pick' N rolls.
If we get Melo, I'm a lot more open to trading Butler for a SG that can shoot lights out. Or delegate Butler to the bench as a 6th man.
