Yeah, or that we just decided to offer the max another team could offer. I thought that alone was a bit excessive. It didn't appear he was getting the max from another team anyway. Oh well.

I know. We kept hearing about the Bucks and a possible max offer, then that sort of faded out of the conversation.

Nice to finally see someone else mention Pierce. He's a better fit than anyone and probably a good leader/mentor for Warren. Only wants $9-$10 million to and wants to play 1 or 2 more years. Perfect...not big money or long contract....better player than Deng and cheaper.

But...have you seen Pierce playing last year? He was playing PF, I mean real PF. He is slow, very slow at this point of his career. He is a good playerd, of course, but he can not play starting minutes on a good team anymore, he will be 37 before next season begins.
I like him for a 18-20 minutes coming of the bench, and no more than $6M per year.

Pau didn't like playing in DAntoni's system. Now that DAntoni is gone, the only way he leaves the Lakers is for a contender like Chicago, OKC, or SAS. Otherwise, there is no reason for him to leave.

No way he joins our team. Besides, he just wouldn't look right in purple and orange (kinda like how Nash has never looked right in purple and gold)

Uhhh....no?

They have been... all-Stars. That's what he meant... I think.

What I was inferring was Dragic could be an Allstar , Bledsoe could be one.... And as car as Deng and Gasol goes, yes they have been ... And outside of Lebron coming here, those two give us a the best/legitimate chance to go well into the playoffs. You don't have to beat all of teams in the west... Only three of them

Green has never been overpaid. I would only trade him if we are getting something valuable back. I want him here for a long time. Perfect guy for this system off the bench. I want to extend him now.

Deng is not going to be cheap.
He wants longterm deal and tons of money him and Chicago parted ways for it.

Deng is one of those guys you get if your on the cusp of contending.
Rather throw money at PJ who is a similar type guy but cost less

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

They can just match though because Parsons is a restricted free agent. What we should do is offer Parsons a contract ASAP so Houston has to metaphorically kill two birds with one stone. Front-load the contract too.

We need Deng or another solid/boarderlineallstar 3.

Tucker makes a better backup.
Warren is just a rookie
Green may or may not be on the way out
Archie is a 2

Green is fool's gold. I like him on the cheap, only. After his deal is up he'll fade away into an overpaid contract somewhere else.

What's tomorrow's lottery numbers? PM me quick, thanks.

Suns could still offer Bosh max. Houston is offering max but has to move several people to create the space. I don't think that one is a done deal yet. Not sure Houston has the assets to get rid of Lin's contract.

I think Bosh is good...he's durable, rarely injured, athletic and skilled. My thing is I would play him in an Amare role. You may not want him as a Max guy but I think he makes us a contender for our team. We're more talented with Bosh than the Suns were in 2010 . We'd be a better defensive team, more athletic, and far more clutch with Dragic, Bled, and Bosh...in 2010 our team was reeling for a killer scorer (J Rich, Hill, Nash were all in decline in terms of being the kinda guy who could put his team on his back. Amare never developed into that guy.)

Dragic
Bledsoe
Tucker
Bosh
Plumlee/Lee

VS.

NASH
J RICH
HILL
AMARE
FRYE/LOPEZ

No, he didn't say that. He said we are giving him the max. Our max is 5 year, $90 million, but I'm not sure that is what he meant. Him saying we our giving him the max, would indicate it is our max, because our max is not the same max another team can give him.

I'm just hoping by saying we are giving him the max, he meant a number closer to that 4 year, $58 million max (that other teams can offer), which I still think is high. I was thinking he should get about 4 year, $48 million. I mean $50 at the most. That alone would be more than any pg in the league other than Westbrook, Paul, Rose, Williams and Irving. Williams and Paul are in their third contracts though. I think Bledsoe is more on par with the next tier. Curry, Lawson, Lowry, Conley. Conley got 5 years, $40 million. Curry got 4/44. Lowry just got 4/48, Lawson got 4/48. I don't even think he should be making as much as Tony Parker who makes 12.5 a year (which would be 4/50). That second group has all been starters for at least a couple years before getting their 4 year deals too. I've already mentioned the recurring torn meniscus even makes it scarier. Curry may have gotten a little less because of injury problems too.

Even another team's max is a big overpay.

We can't give Bledsoe 5yr/90m, the most we can give him is 4yr/58m. The only reason that Kyrie got 5yr/90m is because he is potentially eligible for the Derrick Rose Rule.

Agreed. He may be streaky, but I'd say Patty Mills is also a streaky shooter, and if Gerald Green gets hot at the right time, he can be the difference maker in a playoff series. I want Green here for a while, unless he helps us reel in a superstar.

You can designate one player on your team to get the 5 year max. It's called the designated player. He can get 25% of the cap with 7.5% raises. So he would start at close to 16 and go up about a million each year.

16+17+18+19+20=90 But yes, Bledsoe CAN get this if we make him the designated player. No one else on the team could get it for the next five years though.

The Derrick Rose rule allows you to get even more....30% of the cap. But you have to be on the all nba, all star team starter twice or mvp to get that.

Idiotic Minnesota didn't even give Love the designated player, and he got an opt out after his 3rd year.

Hindsight is 20/20. From what's been made public through insiders and the like, we had a very real legitimate chance at Lebron and we had a chance until it came down to the the last 3 teams. Had we never had a chance, as you seem to be implying, then I think you would have a point.

Houston recruirted both LeBron and Bosh. There's no rule that says if you try to get LeBron then you can't try to get Bosh also.

We are not getting Bosh now that Miami will likely give him the max.
