Yeah, or that we just decided to offer the max another team could offer. I thought that alone was a bit excessive. It didn't appear he was getting the max from another team anyway. Oh well.
Ahh. I get it now. We are offering the max another team could offer. I didn't get it the first time I read it.
No, he didn't say that. He said we are giving him the max. Our max is 5 year, $90 million, but I'm not sure that is what he meant. Him saying we our giving him the max, would indicate it is our max, because our max is not the same max another team can give him.
I'm just hoping by saying we are giving him the max, he meant a number closer to that 4 year, $58 million max (that other teams can offer), which I still think is high. I was thinking he should get about 4 year, $48 million. I mean $50 at the most. That alone would be more than any pg in the league other than Westbrook, Paul, Rose, Williams and Irving. Williams and Paul are in their third contracts though. I think Bledsoe is more on par with the next tier. Curry, Lawson, Lowry, Conley. Conley got 5 years, $40 million. Curry got 4/44. Lowry just got 4/48, Lawson got 4/48. I don't even think he should be making as much as Tony Parker who makes 12.5 a year (which would be 4/50). That second group has all been starters for at least a couple years before getting their 4 year deals too. I've already mentioned the recurring torn meniscus even makes it scarier. Curry may have gotten a little less because of injury problems too.
Even another team's max is a big overpay.
