Well then they have even fewer minutes for him! There's Frye, O'Quinn, and Nicholson ahead of him now at PF. None of those guys can really play much C, and Gordon absolutely can't.

From what I've seen Payton's vision and passing skills leave a lot to be desired. He's extremely quick and a nice athlete but he's a scoring, driving guard like Smart. I get Smart's questionable fit next to Oladipo, but I don't know that Payton--another athlete that can't shoot and excels only when he's diving at the rim--solves that issue.

That's true, but what I don't like about these moves is that they're decreasing the value of the stockpile they have. Nicholson and Fournier will never see the court so they can't raise their value, and guys like O'Quinn and Harris will get a lot less chance to shine too. If they got the SG version of Frye I would understand--they actually had him in Afflalo!--since that way they could clear up time for the younger front court players. It's not a disaster and in many ways their position is enviable, but I wouldn't be surprised if they stockpiled their way into one seriously messy roster in a year or two.
