^It sounds like the Heat are after Deng. I agree there's a good chance that Ariza goes to Houston.

Saw that too. Either way its fine im not expecting us to make big moves I rather have porter and do what spme have said and trade nene and try and get monroe.eother way I expect just a cheap season and fpr us to be ok next year.

But rather have deng than ariza.

It would make no sense whatever for us to sign Deng. If Ariza goes, so be it -- next season is down the drain, so just find someone with some potential development -- not a guy at the end of his career; how many bandaids can we put on top of other bandaids?? -- and just live with a significant step backwards.

At this point, I think we are stuck with Nene. We aren't getting a better big, whose contract doesn't expire in 2 years.

Trading for Josh Smith means NO DURANT. I'd pass and simply keep Nene until he expires.

No such thing...wall makes every streaky shooter looks good...gortat or smith can get unloaded easily

A first for smith,! No way ! Now if we are trading NENE for Monroe, then maybe I include an unprotected first. But, I am not interested in smith!

Rockets pursuing Athreeza.

Anything they have that could be worth a sign and trade? Im happy losing Ariza because I think we'll be fine with Porter, im ready to be proved right/wrong, he just needs a shot and he wont get it with Ariza and Webster on the team. Trading Ariza for depth seems like a good move.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Does it help Houston at all to structure this as a sign and trade? A TPE, Donatas, anything that we can use to fill the 3rd big need!

Didn't that happen last time he signed with Houston?

I actually like it for Houston. I think an Ariza/Parsons/Howard front-court causes a lot of match-up issues and is pretty strong defensively. Given the market, they got a good deal from Ariza - which makes having to overpay Parsons a little easier.

If I were an NBA GM, I would want to be on EG's good side :) It doesn't seem like there was a nasty bidding war or anything, simply Ariza chose Houston for a reasonable contract that was available for either team.

Getting a TPE could be handy even if the WIzards aren't really in a position to ask for much more.

He's exactly what we need at the 4, he's healthy as well...hes playing out of position on the pistons...next to gortat and pierce he'll be back to his GOOD atlanta days. N he was good on the hawks

I don't think you realize even his "good" ATL days don't warrant his current contract.

Lol u sure??
The last time he played with Joe johnson 11/12 he averaged
19.2/9.8/4 assists/1.4 steals/1.8 blocks 45% fg and 25% from 3 with 1.7 attemps
the season after
17.8/8.6/4.3 assists/1.3 steals/1.8 blocks 46% fg and 30% from 3 with 2.7 attemps

his 3pt sucked tht year but it was better the year before and after...with wall I see it jumping like Arizas did...not to mention beal having to be watched as well as pierce along the perimeter.

he's still an underrated defender and can defend marquee 4s and 3s.
He's owed the same much as nene as well now u compare...not to mention he has been relatively healthy his whole career
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!

Please just stop with the Josh Smith stuff. He's unwanted and not a championship calibre player. The Spurs would never want that guy, even if he was making MLE money.

Josh Smith can be a decent player when he thinks, but the problem is one, he isn't worth that money, two it costs us the opportunity to be a player for Durant...I'd rather have a 20% chance at Durant then 100% chance at Josh Smith.
