Yeah, it takes roughly 5 years or year 1 of contract 2 for a big man to truly blossom. Especially if they are young like Alex was coming in.

Bigs always take a lot longer to develop than smalls. The Guard game is usually transferable from college to the NBA. its the same skillset. With Bigs, they might have been conditioned as the tallest and girthiest guy on the court, but when they come into the league, they are going up against guys the same size as them, but with more advanced techniques and skills. The stuff they used to do in college that allowed them to dominate and out muscle guys wont work in the NBA.

All Bigs take long. Look at how long it took Bynum and Hibbert. Fropez has just found his way last season. It takes time, so you have to be patient.

Yeah because it took Duncan and Griffin and Shaq and Garnett and Love that long to develop their big man skills. Come on now each player is different. RoLo showed it in his second year until he got hurt. Len could break out this year or next ... if it wasn't until 2019 he would be a labelled a bust.

Suns selfies are definitely better than the silly bickering that's been going on :)

Bigs do take time. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. They foul a lot and are a step slow to react. Defense is mental and it takes time to understand what crafty vets are doing to them and what the refs will let them get away with. Its about repetition and naturally reacting instead of thinking. It wouldn't surprise me to see len plumlee and even markieff play better defensively this season.

Big men in general takes longer to develop. Also those big men you've listed are once in a decade big men (TD/Shaq/KG are anyway), they are the exception.

I just want to see him have a pulse this season. Mistakes are part of the process. Not being aggressive is not a good thing. I would rather see him foul out banging for rebounds than being a polite bystander.

just look up his name on realgm itself...in addition to NBA regular season and college stats, all summer league, international, and preseason stats are posted from 2010/11 season onwards I believe.

It took Love a good 2-3 years. Griffin was getting clowned on that all he could do is rebound and dunk, but now he has added defense and a decent jumper to his game. It also took Garnett quite a few years to develop into the player that he became. Duncan/Shaq are just a whole 'nother level from a whole different era.

Bynum and KG were drafted at 17 years old...

It might take him 4-5 years to be a great player but if he's not consistently making a positive impact within two years it spells trouble. First step is getting on the court for a significant period of time. It would be a bonus for Len to be a Lopez-caliber player next year.

Tim Duncan spent 4 years in college, you can see his development every year.
Duncan was polished by his 3rd year and perfected his fundamentals by his 4th.

Bledsoe's camp was hoping that another team would come forward with a maximum offer, like Charlotte did for Gordon Hayward at four years and $63 million with Utah matching, or that the Suns would use their ability to offer a five-year deal that could be worth more than $80 million.

Philadelphia looks to be the only team that could offer a maximum-level deal and that seems unlikely after this much time, especially with Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams as their point guard and the franchise apparently not being in a win-now mode with a young roster. Milwaukee considered being a suitor but has not been involved on him for a few days and has used chunks of cap space, adding Phoenician combo guard Jerryd Bayless and former Suns point guard Kendall Marshall to a point guard tandem of Brandon Knight and Nate Wolters.

It might require a sign-and-trade for Bledsoe to go elsewhere but the Suns' intent is to bring him back. Bledsoe has a $3.7 million qualifying offer that he could choose to play for next season and then become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
The process has been complicated by rumored sign-and-trade talks that the Suns say are untrue. Some of it may be one-way interest from other teams. Some of the rumors are not even allowed under CBA rules.
