Also majorly into bodybuilding, used to just mess around in the gym but now I discovered Starting Strength and my lifts are shooting up in the last few months (200 bench, 275 squat, for those who are wondering)
Ah yes, Mark Rippetoe's program...I did Starting Strength for about 9 months. My PB is still 265 for bench, 315 deadlift, and 285 squat). Sadly, an ankle injury from a volleyball game and a broken shoulder from ultimate frisbee keeps me from ever achieving my PB again.
Starting Strength is good for beginners. Once you're doing with Starting Strength, look into Louie Simmons' Westside Barbell training.
265 benchman that's crazy upper body strength compared to your other two.
Actually I'm running Babylover's variant of SS, feel like the original doesn't have enough pull movements, recipe for rotator cuff injuries.. I was going to move onto Upper-Lower when I felt I maxed out SS, I'll check out Westside though, thanks man.
Sucks about the injuries... I've basically stopped playing other sports because if I got injured and had to stop lifting I'd go absolutely insane. Pretty much an addict![]()
Haha, to quote a wise man...'the most satisifying feeling in the gym is da pump'
