Why didnt we go Lin for DWill?

The reasoning is simple: Why would you trade for D-Will?

I get that Lin can be somewhat overrated, but at least the dude tries and shows up unlike D-Will who looks like he floats through games. Plus Lin's an expiring and that's huge.

You'd have to find a GM dumber than Billy King and sadly he re-signed(Dumars).

Personally, nobody will touch Deron Williams at this point until he proves that he can be efficient in some form. My only idea regarding him would be to try and dump him the second teams show interest and I'd try and go for shorter deals if possible and cut your losses.

I would take Lin right now and would be ecstatic. At least you know you will get all out effort.

It'll be interesting to see how Deron Williams responds this season, and if he shows his true self: Will he have patience with Bogdanovic, Karasev, Brown, C. Jefferson? Will he help set them up? Or will he be looking for his shot the whole time?

Deron is really our last trade asset.

If the team was smart they would have moved him last season for Lin & Asik that would've cleared up money to keep Livingston. And gave them a good center.

Instead they're stuck with Deron and will let Blatche walk...

Moving Deron would've been a pure salary dump move for 2015 and 2016 FA class. Trading him makes Livingston irrelevant in the long run. They both worked well together as a backcourt and Lin is too ball dominant.

I think the Nets, much like alot of us expected him to get healthier by all-star break and put up the monster production he did in the second half of the 2012-2013 season. In hindsight, they would have definitely traded him.

Instead they're stuck with Deron and will let Blatche walk.

Blatche is a headcase. He did something during the season that pissed off the entire organization but we haven't exactly heard what it was. The Nets let him walk.

D-Will is not untradable. Hes still living off his Utah days and I guarantee teams would trade for him for the potential of him getting back to form.

We wouldn't get great value, but we would get something. There are a lot of desperate teams out there.

if he was making sayin 8-10 million, sure absolutely somone who take him. but at 20 million we would likely need to give someone a first rounder to take him. at best, we could get back someone elses bad contracts that run shorter, like javale mcgee or brandon jennings

there are simply too many good point gaurds, dwill is no longer a top 10 point gaurd. and he is on the wrong side of 30 with injury and effort questions. and that positions is tending more towards athletic slashers then shooters

any direction you want to go, trading dwill is the best option, regardless of who you get for him
