That was a very good piece and those are my sentiments on Rose as well. Thanks Jeter, some of us looked at it that way but most wanted Rose's head for not recuiting

Being on this team is going to be perfect for Rose..he can just lay back, run the offense, and ease into this, while knocking some much needed rust off.

We’ve now seen with many examples that a 12-month recovery with an ACL injury is not unusual. Danilo Gallinari has been out more than a year. Rajon Rondo was out a year. So were Nerlens Noel and Robbie Hummel with similar ACL tears.

Nah I don't buy it. Basketball culture is different than baseball culture. Recruiting stars has been the norm in the NBA for awhile, because with only 5 players on the court at once and 12 on a roster, one star added to a team impacts the overall team significantly more than a baseball team.

I think the comparison is random because Jeter's situation is so much different than Rose's.

It is easy to say don't recruit when you have never needed to recruit.

I think if Jeter was injured for two years and the Yankees needed him to help attract star Free Agents Jeter would do so.
