In which way is the coach great? In barely involving Jonas in the offense? Sitting him when he's hot?

it is easy to say, harder to execute. it all starts with the guards, and guard play is not very good. I bet the coach wants his bigmen to be involved more, but he can't do it by himself.

This.

They barely run any plays for Jonas to even post up. If the guards couldn't manage to get him the ball in the post, I wouldn't be mad at the coach, but now they simply have like 2-3 plays the whole game where Jonas posts up.

They were trying to play through Jonas in second half, but NZL was very cautious and sent double team every time JV received or was about to receive the ball.

JV with the beard huh. Looks like he wants to completely rid of the boyish look in his rookie year. Gasol esque, I like it.

Only one person got more minutes today. Same applies for the whole tournament.
and that guy is Seibutis who has to play SG AND PG because of well known reasons.

This is exactly the case. And I'm quite worried how Raps' guards will handle it. I expect JV getting doubled even before pass going to him and if JV does not become wiser in passing of double teaming, Raps may have problems over there

He had a beard like that a year ago :) I guess that's his tradition - to have a beard while playing for LTU :D

It's just another step in development, right? He's shown the ability to pass the ball, just a matter of being smart 99% time. Plus, it's nice having a guy that needs a double team. If you have smart players then it's an advantage. We have enough talent and enough smarts on the team that it could be deadly to have to double Jonas. If teams double before the pass then he wouldn't even have to touch the ball and it would be effective.

Let's cross our fingers that DD starts drawing a double regularly. I'd say it will happen to him before JV but it would be nice if we had a pick your poison situation for teams to have to deal with.

I didn't get a chance to watch today's game live but I'm excited to watch tonight!

JV and his damn pump fakes. There was literally no one around him in the first gif but he still does it.

I'm not sure who are the Lithuanian posters, but i have a hard time understanding them constantly img pimping our Lithuanian girls... It's pretty altruistic, but you are not helping your Lithuanian brethren, who will only have their left and right hands, after foreigners pick out all the best girls for themselfs.

Also, not sure why JV and Motiejunas were sitting at the bench for so long, when we had a clear advantage in that aspect, even if our guards are non-existant, they still managed to pull of points, often by brute force.

To be honest, I wouldn't make the Gasol comparison. If anything, JV has finally decided to match my mental image of him, using a hero of mine from childhood as inspiration:

JVief should be one of his new nicknames. He will break you.

oh, cmon, they just posting pictures of Lithuanian players' girlfriends/wifes. I wouldn't mind to see a picture of Adas Juskevicius girlfriend on every page of this thread. She is gorgeous.

As a fan of Rytas, I'm happy I probably will be able to see her live at the games
