Having addressed two points raised last week by a judge in the long-running Comcast SportsNet Houston bankruptcy case, the Astros and Rockets will return to court Thursday in hopes of receiving final approval to sell the TV channel to AT&T and DirecTV.
Attorneys will deliver final arguments at 3 p.m. Thursday before Bankruptcy Judge Marvin Isgur, who will be asked to sign off on a proposal that could result in the final shutdown of CSN Houston and its relaunch as Root Sports Houston early next month.
Comcast, which co-owns CSN Houston with the teams, continues to oppose the team-sponsored reorganization plan, which would sell the network for $5,000 to AT&T and DirecTV, which will contribute $50 million in new capital to relaunch the channel.
Games are scheduled on CSN Houston through Noverber 9th, but nothing beyond that.
While the final arguments are scheduled for 3:00 PM, there is no guarantee that they will finish today. Also keep in mind that the last time these were scheduled it was changed 10 minutes before they were to begin.
I'll be patiently awaiting more news as it develops.
