not interested in any vets with leadership really unless we somehow have some other outgoing pieces (mayo/zaza/bayless/dudley/knight), and those vets are limited to PG's and C's that are likely worth more to their current teams than larry could be. so really, we are looking at picks or prospects.
I know I asked the question and you're entitled to answer however you like, or not at all hahaha. I appreciate your response, and I realize that larry is probably worth more to your team than what his market value would be, but I find it tough to conceive a guy who avg's 5.7pts, 7.8 rbs, 2 blk, 1.7 stls, 1 ast, to be worth multiple 1st's including a top 5. We all know his value isn't fully represented in his stat line, because he does other things to help the team that don't really show up in a box score, but usually top 5 picks, packaged with another mid 1st, are reserved for all-star type players. Would it help if you were able to add a dead weight contract like Ersan to the mix?
not a top 5 pick & another mid 1st. either a top 5 pick // OR // a pg with upside and a mid 1st.
and no, we arent in any position where we need to unload dead weight contracts to free up cap space to spend on more dead weight contracts. it'd be great to get ersan off the books but who are we going to sign with that money that wouldnt be an overpay to come to milwaukee to play with our young guys?
i know having cap space is valuable, but not at the expense of losing valuable assets, who can contribute, and who are young. considering larrys age, theres no way id throw in dead weight contracts to unload him.
Oh sorry man, I misread that. I think we could provide the high lotto pick but as far as a young PG, we have none. Vasquez is a big PG with a great competitive nature and team attitude who once led the league in assists the last time he started, and really has a great all-around impact on his teammates, but he's not young and has no more upside. I do think he could be a good starting PG who will run the offense, knock down 3's, get everyone involved, and play tough with a swagger, but I could see why you guys would be looking for something more than him obviously. I'd personally do Vasquez (since we have lou williams) and 2 mid 1sts for him. The only reason I say mid 1st's is because we own whichever is worse of the Denver, NYK 2016 picks, and we also have our own 2015 1st as well as a bunch of 2nds.
http://www.prosportstransactions.com/ba ... aptors.htmMuch of our fan base is willing to let go of Ross also, simply because he's a SG and we have Lou and DD at SG. We've tried Ross at the 3, where usually he's fine, but there's guys like Joe Johnson, Bron, Melo, KD, Tobias, etc, that he doesn't have the size to matchup with. The main reason he's in the starting lineup is for his defense, and 3pt shooting. DD isn't a 3pt shooter and we need the spacing, otherwise I think James Johnson would start at the 3 due to defense. I personally am very high on Ross, but it seems that some on our board are looking for a better fit.
