Still hoping for the semi realistic Stauskas scenarios.

I still love his potential to become pre-injury Brandon Roy.

The Kings WERE trying very hard to trade their 1st in this past draft for some vets. They have said they are in win-now mode. So it seems highly likely they would move rookie Stauskus especially now that McLemore has found himself. Knight and Middleton seems very reasonable as they provide decent shooting from 1 thru 4. Give them Ersan the stretch 4 they want next to Cousins for Willliams or Thompson or Landry and I think they go. But we aren't offering Knight probably.

Nets trade :
Kevin garnett
2015 1st round pick
2017 1st round pick

Bucks trade:
Brandon Knight
Ersan

I think kg would be ok to play for Kidd. This only works of the nets are out of playoff contention and the bucks are in. Kg has to ok it
Gives us lots of cap room

Nets can't trade a 1st until like 2043 or something. What a horribly run franchise. It's like they dug up Ted Stepien and made him GM.

Yeah

Which one of your bigs would you most likely package when DWill is added. We would probably want Zaza or Henson preferably Henson.

Would obviously prefer to add Zaza but I'd add Henson if that's what it took.

Rockets could use Ilyasova and Henson.

We'd get pennies on the dollar right now with Henson. Not saying I wouldn't still flip him for that. But it's so frustrating we let another asset extinguish like with Ersan (at least for now). I'll consider the mitigating factor that the front office got an overhaul this offseason and they were trying to catch up on figuring out what they had, but trades of Henson and Knight ideally should have gotten done. However, they were still classified as young players, nice guys, and invested in as part of marketing campaigns, so they are still around contributing from a marginally positive to a negative. Henson has really become a shell of himself trade value-wise. I think in the league's eyes he went from future starter to roster body almost overnight.

Trade Targets

If we trade either Henson or Zaza, does Kidd start playing Giannis situationally at third string center?

Otherwise it seems like it'd be Ersan or someone else we sign or acquire.

Would love it if Mayo has remotely this kind of value.

He has been great here but given the risk that he falls back into bad habits (like he did after his hot start in Dallas) I'd likely sell-high if given the opportunity.

Also Sacramento taking on Ersan is a lot to hope for even though he's picking up his game of late. Kings have a lot of big salaries up front already too, so suspect we'd be taking back Thompson in this kind of deal. We could probably use his help if we are trading a big man as is.

I really doubt we trade thompson unless the PF coming back is a starter actually I'd be pissed if he's traded he has been A+ on defense and we need him for all the PFs in the west.
We probably do a Nik/DWill for
mayo/zaza or Henson cause we desperately need a big off the bench with size to pair with Landry and we need scoring off the bench. With an average bench we would be 10-2 right now with the hardest strength of schedule.

I think a deal with you guys might happen cause we were linked together in the offseason. Last time we were linked with teams in the offseason a trade between us happen just not for the players rumored to be in it.

I dunno if we'd get pennies on the dollar for Henson, he's still a pretty young player and has put up stats before. I think he'd still have value to someone.

Sorry I was under the impression that Thompson was someone not highly valued by the Kings. Agree that he probably wouldn't be included here if that's the case.

I don't know if we'd value DWill more than an ending contract but I doubt that would impede matters here.

As for our teams being linked in the offseason, are you referring to the talk of trading your pick for Knight +, or something else?

Also wasn't aware that there was a previous team you had been linked to where a trade went through like that. Which deal was that?

To me, it would be an easy decision to trade Mayo and Henson for Stauskas if that's what it took. I would then sign Michael Eric. Stauskas + Eric > Mayo + Henson for this team. I know we'd have to take some salary back (likely D-Will), but I'd still make room for Eric in that case (JOB).

This is the type of deal we need to be making. Stauskas could legitimately be a core piece with Giannis and Jabari. An elite shooter with playmaking capability.

As I've said, I would be pushing hard for Stauskas right now as the Kings are desperate to make the playoffs and surround cousins with win-now type pieces.

To quote one of my favorite posters...... WTF lock this.

Ainge is still denying that he is going to trade Toine... the first time.

He said things about Toine as an announcer, but the point is that Ainge as GM said repeatedly that there was no trade, all the way up until he traded him. As he has done with every other trade. Standard operating procedure with anyone, but Ainge is pretty next level with it.

There is zero reason to take anything he says at face value, even secondhand as in this case. Be serious... Ainge would have traded Rondo like 5,000 times in the last 6 years if he could have ever gotten fair value for him. If dude could get a top 10 pick in next year's draft for Rondo, he'd be driving him to Logan right now.

Combining trade scenarios here, what about something like this --

Bucks trade: Knight, Mayo, Henson
Bucks receive: Rondo, Faverani

Kings trade: Stauskas, Williams
Kings receive: Mayo, Henson

Celtics trade: Rondo, Faverani
Celtics receive: Stauskas, Knight, Williams

Bucks lineup afterwards --

PG: Rondo, Bayless, Wolters, Marshall
SG: Middleton, Dudley
SF: Parker, Inglis
PF: Giannis, Ersan, JOB
C: Sanders, Zaza, Faverani
