I assume at this point the only waivable players would be Price or Ellington. Price just became fully guaranteed and Ellington becomes guaranteed on Dec 1. I don't anticipate the team waiving either player since history indicates that the Lakers are hesitant to waive guaranteed deals.
Maybe the hardship exception comes into play, but then the waiving issue comes up when Kelly returns. Also, I think Nash's contract might be more valuable as an expiring 9M than a 4.85 DPE. I think the front office wants to dangle it at the trade deadline. If the DPE is used then Nash cannot be used as an expiring, so don't expect the front office to use Nash's DPE.
Most likely, the team gets a hardship exception and uses a portion of Randle's DPE to sign someone from that list of names that worked out with the team.
Indiana just gave 2 10-day contracts to AJ Price
I guess the hardship exception allows for 10 day contracts. Didn't know that. Who could be signed?
