His blocks are down too -- 1.5 per 100 possessions (a career low for him) vs. 2.3 last season.
His assists are at a career high (yay) at 3.2 per 100 possessions vs. 1.5 last season. But, his turnovers are also at a career high -- 4.7 per 100 possessions vs. 3.7 last season.
In other news, his FG% is now down to 50% (vs. .505 last season and a career average of .485). And, while he's getting to the line a little more often (3.5 FTA per 100 possessions vs. 2.8 last season), he's at a career low in FT% so far (.643 vs. an extremely aberrant (for him) .871 last season).
Folks are seeing signs of progress that don't exist.
Well, it's not quite fair to say that there's been no progress. KS is clearly passing the ball more, as indicated by his improved assist #s, which I consider major progress given that in the past he was essentially a black hole that only knew how to do one thing when he got the ball--shoot. He's also getting to the line more often, which also is a good thing. Although he needs to get his FT% back up.
Again, right now I'm just digging the fact that he's lighter and quicker on his feet. We'll see if that eventually makes a real difference in his #s.
