yeah but we know what Bryan can do in the ring if given the time. so i can somewhat respect his selection however, yes Bryan Danielson would wrassle circles around Daniel Bryan.

Summer of Punk in RoH or WWE? because i never any of Punk's WWE run branded that way.

WWE and yes it wasn't branded like that by WWE but by all the dirt sheets.

And no I don't care for just a good "wrastling" match if I don't care about the characters. Two skinny kids doing hurricaranas in ROH are not what people usually care about. If so then Rey Mysterio would be the most popular wrestler and Hulk Hogan would never exist.

I watch this to be entertained. Yes part of that is how good of a match it is but mostly the characters themselves.

WM 6 Warrior vs Hogan is one if not my favorite match of all time because it felt like you were watching a true spectacle. I would watch that 100 times out of 100 over some ROH indy dude who is a "great wrestler".

So would most people which is why WWE exists and the indys are barely staying afloat.

whoa.....

had those walls ready to go up quick huh kiddo?

i was just trying to get clarification on what you meant by "Summer of Punk" since you're strictly a WWE guy i thought maybe i missed something during his earlier days in the company. Nice tirade though.

Last question...you gonna stop watching when the indy style complete invades the roster? i noticed a lot of your "best of" answers involved indy standouts who aren't that far removed from that same in ring style.

No I won't because those guys have developed very good characters.

Currently Seth is one of my favorites. He has gone from the third guy on the shield to an awesome heel. The sell job he did on the RKO vs Orton was classic.

But again this is not all in ring work. The indys are all about who has the best "work rate". I only care about that if your character is compelling enough to care.

Again I go back to turtle sheamus. If wrestling was only about wrasslin the guy would be a mega star but its not. That guy is a charismaless good hand.

In contrast, I love the Kevin Owens dude because as soon as I saw him go into the ring I felt he had it. Then he started doing crazy moves and those moves mattered because he had a presence.

Yes he is from the indies. But who cares. He has a good CHARACTER. That matters more than anything. Ask Chris Jericho. Or should I link that interview again?

i get what you're saying and believe it or not a lot of the "marks" you speak so lowly of can make the distinction between a really good in-ring indy guy and a really good in-ring indy guy that has the "IT" factor to make it big. The theme is the same throughout all promotions nowadays. there are your guys who can just perform and there are guys with awesome characters that can perform. Anybody that watched Punk in RoH could tell you he had what it took to be huge in WWE. I always personally thought RoH was a bad fit for him BECAUSE his in-ring was very underdeveloped compared to his mic game. his in-ring was always more suited for the WWE in my opinion.

Plenty of guys that can flat out get it done as major stars in the WWE that are wrestling in the indies right now and yes there are far more guys that will never make it to that level because they don't have the complete game down. Just hard to understand how anybody can say that indy guys are strictly this or that without seeing the product. Guys like Owens and Ambrose didn't just gain that presence and ability when their sig hit a WWE contract, they came in the door with that which they honed on the indies. Not saying any indy talent can make it but Diamonds in the rough do exist.

Just remember the name Adam Cole, he's the next "RoH indy dude who is a great wrestler".

I'm not in a position to fill out all the answers right now but I agree with SDM on AJ Styles being wrestler of the year and agree with Marcus on the Young Bucks for tag team of the year.

So you're handing out awards based on reputation. That's like giving LeBron the MVP after he missed a season due to injury.

Also I thought it was a really good year for tag team wrestling, mainly NJPW and ROH. Teams like the Young Bucks, Timesplitters (Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA), Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov), reDRagon (O'Reilly & Bobby Fish), Briscoe Brothers, Bad Influence/Addiction... many good matches took place with different combinations of those teams.

Huge Fans of those teams. I was a huge mark for the Motor City Machine Guns. I Really think TNA should focus on getting more great tag teams. You've got the Single stars of Angle,Roode,Lashley,EC3,Joe,EY,Aries. Get some tag teams.

Just read this. Interesting and I tend to agree with a lot of it, particularly Steph being one of the best parts of 2014.

I Can't help thinking how big of stars Roode and Storm could've been with the WWE Machine Behind them. Also on the indy guys they rarely match up to the hype. Which sucks for them. Even though some of them are still Good they are considered failures. Abit like a Number 1 draft pick being hyped as Franchise Player and he turns out a good Role Player.

Over the years i've heard guys like Punk,Joe,Daniels,Daniel Bryan,Aries Hyped up like crazy. Aries was the only that lived up to it imo. All talented guys but the hype was insane.

Then I'll be a hipster because the only part I really disagreed with was AJ Lee being on the Worst list, and The Miz being on the Best list.
