I watch this to be entertained. Yes part of that is how good of a match it is but mostly the characters themselves.
WM 6 Warrior vs Hogan is one if not my favorite match of all time because it felt like you were watching a true spectacle. I would watch that 100 times out of 100 over some ROH indy dude who is a "great wrestler".
So would most people which is why WWE exists and the indys are barely staying afloat.
whoa.....
had those walls ready to go up quick huh kiddo?
i was just trying to get clarification on what you meant by "Summer of Punk" since you're strictly a WWE guy i thought maybe i missed something during his earlier days in the company. Nice tirade though.
Last question...you gonna stop watching when the indy style complete invades the roster? i noticed a lot of your "best of" answers involved indy standouts who aren't that far removed from that same in ring style.
No I won't because those guys have developed very good characters.
Currently Seth is one of my favorites. He has gone from the third guy on the shield to an awesome heel. The sell job he did on the RKO vs Orton was classic.
But again this is not all in ring work. The indys are all about who has the best "work rate". I only care about that if your character is compelling enough to care.
Again I go back to turtle sheamus. If wrestling was only about wrasslin the guy would be a mega star but its not. That guy is a charismaless good hand.
In contrast, I love the Kevin Owens dude because as soon as I saw him go into the ring I felt he had it. Then he started doing crazy moves and those moves mattered because he had a presence.
Yes he is from the indies. But who cares. He has a good CHARACTER. That matters more than anything. Ask Chris Jericho. Or should I link that interview again?
