I must say this is a very reasonable deal. Deng is clearly an upgrade (offensively) over Tucker, and I like PJ Tucker a lot. He is on a very friendly deal also which is a bonus.

There might be some benefits. Deng is a little bigger than Tucker. But Tucker is more efficient, especially from the 3. I don't think Cole adds anything whatsoever. The loss of Green would be significant. To call him a "slim figure" completely understates his role on this team. When he is "on" he is unstoppable--think Vinny Microwave Johnson. The only reason we consider trading Green is because we probably cannot sign him this summer. By trading Green and IT, we give up our instant scoring off the bench. I could see trading one of them, but not both of them together.

I certainly did not mention Green in a trade proposal whatsoever. I understand that Green is a key contributor on your team. Someone mentioned that you did not need an upgrade at SF since you have Tucker and Green. I mentioned that Green seems a bit too frail for the SF spot but ideal as a big lanky two guard. The proposal is Tucker and Thomas. If anything it frees up more time for Green to get Thomas out the way. Cole would be a situational depth play behind Dragic and Bledsoe and a place holder for Ennis. Getting Tucker out the way and bringing in Deng with backups Morris and Warren provides your squad with a whole different dimension. Deng and his slashing ability could really thrive with the Dragic-Bledsoe duo.

I have to agree. Tucker/IT for Deng/Cole is more than fair for us. Yes, Deng costs more than PJ, but he's on a PO next year, and if we bring in more talent and/or make the playoffs this season, he's likely to re-sign. And yes, Deng provides a bigger obstacle for Warren to get on the court, but worst case, Warren only gets 15-18 minutes of playing time next year, which he'll likely need, then we can decide in 2016 to retain Deng, or allow Warren to graduate to starter minutes.

And while Cole is not as good offensively as IT, as was mentioned, he is better defensively, so with Cole/EB/Deng and Len on the court together is a strong defensive team.

Of course, McD probably doesn't make this trade as Deng is outside that "mid-20s" age at 29, but to me, it's a good trade and a better squad for us moving forward.

Tucker has been good now for back to back seasons. He's actually finishing in the paint this year as well. Deng at this point is unnecessary cap. No matter who bring on this team the ball is going to be dominated by the guards, Dragic/Bledsoe/IT and even green. This team needs a big who stretches the floor or rebounds

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

@WojYahooNBA: Three Cleveland players, including Waiters, on the way out, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. There's a trade call set for later tonight.

@WojYahooNBA: New York is sending J.R. Smith to Cleveland, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Any word on the third team in the three-way trade?

The way I was looking at it was acquiring assets, while really not losing too much, and I was responding to a proposed trade. :D I like IT, but I really liked the idea where we always had either Bledsoe or Dragic on the court at all times, like we had the whole time Bledsoe was healthy last season. Plus we have enough guards to fill in the gaps. But I could understand the team maybe wanting to wait until they know for sure they have Dragic locked up before moving IT, if they even want to move him.

As for minutes, I wasn't too worried about I right now.

However, I'm completely fine with staying the course, and convincing JO to come out of retirement/watching games, since I brought that up a while ago.

You do realize that JO's name has been linked to REAL contenders like Dallas/HOU/LAC right? He is not coming to the Suns.

Wow have to give Phil Jackson credit. He found a sucker to take JR Smith.

@WojYahooNBA: Along with Waiters, New York is sending Iman Shumpert to the Cavaliers, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

REALLY happy Suns did not get involved in that. Also, OKC is really messed up if Westbrook gets hurt. I think its a really bad trade for them.

So let me get this straight - you are a team with problems already and you trade for arguably the one player I would NEVER want - jR Smith. Nice work Griffin. If Waiters is a problem, that's fine. But to take on JR Smith

Also, it tells me that Reggie Jackson wanted a lot of money to the Thunder are cutting losses. And Ish Smith is killing it!!

JR Smith - that is one dude I would never want. EVER

Yeah kinda head scratching trade on their part. The real head scratcher is the cavs trade. That trade is a self destruct trade. Just added a lot of issues to a team with with issues.
