That’s something that I’m doing right now. Hopefully I’ll be able to continue that in college and, if I’m fortunate enough, in the NBA.”
“It’s a lot of fun, especially with me being so competitive and loving the game of basketball so much,” Okafor said of being able to dominate on a nightly basis. “It always feels good when you walk off the court and feel like you were definitely the most dominant player on the floor. That’s my goal every night, to be the most dominant player on both ends of the floor.”
And you know it's not all talk when you see how developed his post-game is at 19. This kid is driven and works hard. That is such a crucial component for being a star in this league. He'll be the type to read of his "weaknesses" such as defense and work hard to improve. While I wouldn't be upset at getting Towns, Okafor is the prize of this draft and we should be rooting for every Philly/Minny win and Knick loss. This'll be the first time in decades that Knicks have control of their pick and are projected to be in the top 3. We need to make the most of it.
We really should be prepared and gather as many assets as we can before draft night... Incase we don't get the number 1 pick so we can trade up for it... I would kill to have Okafor as our franchise player for years to come
Outside of Melo, Knicks doesn't have players/assets worthwhile enough for a team to do a #2-4 for #1 swap.
No one is trading Okafor, who is the undisputed #1 player in the nation. The dude is averaging 19.5/8.7 in 29 minutes on 68% FG right now. He started slow, but have scored 28, 27, 12 (Uconn went all guards), 25, 13 (foul issue), 21, 24 in the last few games.
He is putting up better PER than Davis and Cousins so far http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&year_min=&year_max=&conf_id=&school_id=&class_is_fr=Y&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&games_type=A&qual=&c1stat=per&c1comp=gt&c1val=30&c2stat=mp_per_g&c2comp=gt&c2val=20&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=per
