I wish the Suns would act asap and get something in return from him even if its a late 1st rd pick from a contender who thinks they can use him.
2-9, 0-5 from 3 for Green.
I'm saying it now, Green will be completely useless once he leaves PHX. He will go back to being a bench warmer like he was in Indiana. No other HC will give him the type of long leash that Hornacek trusts him with.
Execs around the league know exactly what Gerald Green is. I do not think his value is dropping just because he continues to play like what he is in the minutes given him.
The only reason his trade value would be dropping is that in trade he is, at best, a short term rental. And the rental period gets shorter day by day. Honestly, Gerald Green is not that highly valued as a rental anyway. Teams make big trades for rental players when they are star players. They do this either to get a leg up on other teams to resign the player, or because they can play a key role in a championship run. Gerald Green doesn't fit either situation. His trade value is quite low except as a nice secondary player included in a multiplayer trade.
So, there is no point in getting worked up about trying to trade him. If a big deal comes along for a star player, then he might be part of that deal. But on his own, keeping him now and letting him walk next summer (or signing him cheap) is as good an option as any. He seems to be a good guy in the locker room. He is funny and keeps things loose. Its obvious that Horny likes him
