I here responses like that all the time on realgm. People will say that a player is sucking even though he's getting the max and then another person will respond and say that he actually doesnt start getting paid the max to the following year. I dont think it was meant as a diss to Love but moreso to just keep the mouthy reporter straight and to let him know that he doesnt know what he's talking about

Well, it up to your interpretation. Being a "max player" means something. Obviously Blatt couldve been literally remarking that Love isnt making the max, even though HE IS again based on the number of years hes been in the league, he also could have been saying Love isnt a max player. Nobody knows what he meant by it, but OH WELL

Kyrie Irving, the same type of player as Love (bad defence + little effect on wins as the leader), seems to be getting a free pass. Kevin will notice this, and i doubt he'll accept his role as the scapegoat. Rough seas ahead!

That would be factually incorrect then, and Blatt would be the one who doesn't know what he's talking about. Kevin Love signed a 4yr max deal in 2012:

He's making just under $17 million in salary this season.

If he's trying to get fired, he's doing good.

I thought he just meant literally that Love hadn't signed a max deal yet. But if that poster on this page is right, then Love is a max player already. Huh.

Is there any evidence Blatt actually said this besides a tweet that doesn't provide a link to any sort of video??

Blatts a trailblazer. He's entering new territory in potentially pissing off his players

Does it really matter. Blatt is wrong either way.

Wiggins is looking pretty damn good this season.

Kyrie has actually been playing pretty good defense for the most part. You can tell he's focusing on defense. (Moreso when Lebron plays, as he doesn't have to expand all his energy on offense)

This coach isn't too smart. LeBron definitely isn't a big fan of him and this likely means that his buddies on the team aren't as well. Now you add Love to the mix. Tough to get a team to play hard for you if they don't like you.

True, but you know what looks even worse than trading Wiggins for Love? Trading Wiggins for Love, and then being unable to retain Love.

LeBron is probably packing already to go back to Miami.
Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way.

Yikes. The basketball fan in me is truly disappointed that we may not see the incredible talent of a James-Irving-Love trio reach its potential, but the Bulls fan in me is loving every second of this. There's comfort in knowing that even with Rose being a walking question mark and Noah playing with the knees of a 40 year old, the biggest threat to us talent-wise is doing even wose.

Wiggins is probably laughing his ass off right about now. ROY basically on lock, team to himself, no scapegoating or drama to deal with. Fun times in Minnesota.

Pretty sure he has been in Miami doing his "rehab" :noway:

I certainly don't think Blatt said this with the intent that the rest of the basketball world has taken it, but he may of.

Either way, both KLove and Irving are not producing Max Value. Someone (probaly multiple) will offer Klove a Max contract, but he is not worth it on produuction and wins so far in his career. Irving is exactly the same.
I'm not sure how good a coach Blatt is, but I don't think he has a good TEAM to work with anyway. Mike Miller should be playing 10 minutes a night at best, Kyrie doesn't pass the ball and thinks he is part of an And1 tour, they have no D, especially in the paint (Mozgov should make that a little better) and the everyone else is average at best. When will the GM and Ownder of Cleveland learn that you can't just throw crap together
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team
