They are all holding hands, singing prayers, and telling each other that everything is going to be alright even though there is no factual evidence of anything being ok. This team could be miserable for a decade.
Or it could be great for a decade. It's possible the Sixers won't become one of the elites if it's true that Embiid has a bad work ethic. On the other hand, don't forget that Chamberlain, a Philly icon, had a bad work ethic and still succeeded in scoring more points than anyone alive until Michael Jordan came on the scene and had nearly 24,000 rebounds (22.9 rebounds/game). He missed a year to play with the Globetrotters. It's true that Bill Russell won more championships. It's also true that Bill Russell had a better surrounding cast.
But seriously, a more serious issue with respect to Embiid is if he proves to be injury-prone like Yao. Then you might be right in your assessment that the Sixers could be miserable for a decade.
On the other hand, in case you missed the game, Embiid's performance against Oklahoma State was one of the most remarkable performances by a big - still only 19 years old at the time - going back to Lew Alcindor, Hakeem the Dream and Bill Walton. This was only his 20th college game.
Here's your factual evidence, Green.
