FWIW, we've interviewed McMillan before and was reportedly a "top choice" at one point.

Last summer, McMillan interviewed for the Charlotte Bobcats' job that eventually went to Mike Dunlap, who has since been fired. McMillan interviewed with the Orlando Magic and was reportedly a "top choice" but Jacque Vaughn took over for the fired Stan Van Gundy instead.

Good find. If he a candidate to be considered 2nd time around, we'll definitely be waiting till the summer to make our hire.

Too bad the Magic don't appear to be showing any interest in Karl. Not even a call? Smh.

If Karl was 10 years younger it would be a done deal. If he really feels like he could give five solid years, he would be a very good hire. I bet our guys would like him. I'm surprised he seems to be lobbying this hard for it. He must really want to get back into it. I would think he would want a team he could make a title run with, but maybe he doesn't want that pressure.
McMIllan appears to be pure rumor mill, but I can see a fit there. He has proven himself as a pretty good coach. Top tier? Not sure about that, but he was a beast on defense in his day and would probably like our guys. He was also an assistant under Coach K at the 2008 Olympics so there are some good things there. I actually like several of the potential candidates out there. Karl, Thibs, McMillan, Malone and even Skiles could all fit a defensive team.

I would think guys like McMillan that we interviewed 2-1/2 years ago would not be considered now. We were in a different position then looking for a different coach, a losing one.

Good read on Malone from earlier this season, before he was fired.

If this is true, I doubt Skiles comes here. And, if Karl is using Magic as leverage to force Kings to hire him, then Karl is farther down the list too. Might be down to Malone and McMillan at this rate.

Steve Kyler: Had three different people suggest only way Skiles takes Magic job is if he has control over personnel. Doesn't want to get hosed.

Skiles may never get hired again if he wants personnel control.

Being in Portland, have some experience with Nate. Not a terrible coach, he was dealt a string of bad cards in Portland and didn't get the job done, but he's got a good resume.

Skiles may never get hired again if he wants personnel control.

Yea this is the guy who was giving minutes to Marquis Daniels over Tobias. Him with personnel control is a joke.

Funny that SVG was interviewing with SAC when we hired him, I actually thought about that earlier.

To be fair, nothing concrete has come out about us being interested in anyone. My list is:

Karl
Malone
McMillan

I wouldn't be mad if we hired Skiles, I just know that we would be looking for a new coach in like 2-3 years. That's his shelf life before teams turn on him.

Brian Hill could also be considered. He is a great teacher of the game. We would have to replace him in about 2-3 years as well because isn't the type to lead you to a championship. I'd actually like if our next coach hired Hill as his lead assistant.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

It's very likely it can happen. All this hype about getting Karl is setting up a lot of false hope about obtain the guy when the Magic haven't even interview him yet. I say let Borrego get a shot and see where the rest of the season will go from here.
