Re: Terrible Terrence Ross Needs a Change of Scenery
There is no reason Ross cant be a roleplayer like Mo Pete.......he was essentially that last season. His insertion into the starting lineup instead of Gay was a big reason for the Raps turnaround. He's obviously in a funk right now, hopefully he works his way out of it. Screw fickle fans. I'm loyal to my boyz.

My expectations aren't even moderate for him. I just want him to a be a pest on defense like Patrick Beverly. Talent and athleticism isn't the issue with him, he's just not a driven, focused person. Who are we to judge him though? What are we doing with our lives?
Meh. I wish him no ill will. Keep him, trade him, whatever. As long as the decision that is made is best for the franchise long term.

But that's his downside.
No thats his backside.
Lowry's upside is mental and psychological.

I don't think MU needs the memo, I doubt he's here long term. Probably traded by the deadline, if not in the offseason.

I hear what you're saying about chemistry but what if Masai trades for a guy who has heart and will go all out to help the team? Raptors players would forget all about Ross.

The few Ross fans left are like the few Bargnani fans there use to be...
You guys choose to go down on the Titanic for some reason...
Remember pride is one of the 7 deadly sins
Nah I'm just a Raptor fan who doesn't throw 3rd year players with limited minutes under the bus. The sins are on you guys for betraying real talent.
lol at real talent...When you get older you realize fancy dunks and the odd highlight play doesn't mean "real talent"
His skill set of a 3 and D player has always been a role player.
Usually 3rd year players don't go backwards especially after bombing in the playoffs...
Since then he showed absolutely nothing with DeRozan injured, lost his starting spot and now he's like the 8th man
in the rotation and the worst part is he could careless.
Ujiri said in a interview on the Fan 590 when he first took over he wasn't a big fan of Ross and said there was
next to no interest in him on the trade market and that they would be patient with him and try and develop him.
I can imagine not much has changed.
This is not the type of player you as a poster should be hitching your wagon to unless you like eating crow sandwiches

43rd worst PER out of 68 SF's in the league. Way below league average at 11.55.
I think he could be so much better than this. I'd hate to give up on him too soon. You've got him under contract next season for cheap $$$, so think about trading him 12 months from now, or match offers 17 months from now.
if we were to trade him now, we'd better be getting back a much better (and obviously older end of career type) that can help us win for at least 2 more seasons.

Re: Terrible Terrence Ross Needs a Change of Scenery
Was really high on him for the first 2 seasons as a Raptor. But I can't get past his low IQ. Guys like Draymond Green can play at a borderline all star level off of IQ. Image if Ross had that with his athleticsm.
I also can't look past the fact that he's a major wuss. He has the ability to dunk hard like he did on Faried but tries to avoid contact at all costs now when he goes for a lay up/dunk.
The final nail in the coffin is people defending because of personal issues. If your getting millions to play basketball you better to learn put those aside. And it was his choice to knock up a Ho.

Yeah that makes sense.
The thing is Ross has sucked for 3 years now....Has he shown that much progress since his first month of his rookie season?
That's like saying don't trade Joey Graham after 3 or 4 years of sucking while his trade value is rock bottom
you keep on waiting and before you know it these guys are out of the league.
It's like Colangelo waiting on Bargnani for 7 years...
There's never been a "high" point to sell on Ross
He had a stretch of about 60 good games for us last year as a starter.
As for his value, if you believe he's Joey Graham, what would you expect to get in return for that? If he sucks at the end of his rookie contract then don't renew it. But trading him will likely return similar poor performing pieces.
The upside is that he finds a specialist role as a shooter with us. That's useful to have around and its not like we need to make major changes given our goals for this year (i.e. 2nd round).

This place is insufferable.

Haven't ever been a big Ross fan, and it's gotten worse every time I see him slack on defense, take a contested shot, or see Andre Drummond play.

Terrence Ross needs to forget his baby momma, and be a man, take responsibility of his life. He would do well to build his body, take some PEDs, get stronger, be aggressive, come back 230 lbs and bang with the big boys.

I'd bet money he's gone by the deadline for a big man.

Re: Terrible Terrence Ross Needs a Change of Scenery
Lmao... So this guy went from being scrub first year... To a huge part of our successcand potential allstar second year. To now being useless and a must deal at the trade deadline in his 3rd year? That's pretty ridiculous.cseriously, that's just a really bad management of assets. Terrence Ross value is at an all time low... And he his role has diminished with the addition of Lou Williams... But there are tons of players right now that will provide you with the same impact Ross does, meaning inconsistent production. Difference being, a lot of those players don't have the potential he does... Basically, you're not gonna get anything better than Ross or anyone apt hat will make more of an impact than Ross for him, so getting rid of him for the sake of it is a terrible idea, considering he still has the potential to get better. Unlessches part of a package for a legit star, it makes no sense. He needs at least another year in the playoffs and in the league before its time to say he's not part of the future.

Re: Terrible Terrence Ross Needs a Change of Scenery
For a guy I thought was going to be pretty good, he was an embarassment tonight. He can no longer stay in front of any guard in the league when just a year ago Casey was giving him John Wall as his responsibility.
It's sad to see. Really hope he figures out whatever has been troubling him lately. He didn't come back with anything new after last season and even his shooting seems off.
He looks more like Jamario Moon out there rather than Klay Thompson.

I honestly think if the Raptors tried to call back Sonny Weems from Europe & give him Terrence Ross' role, it would be a plausible upgrade & a hand-in-glove fit. You have the Young Gunz reunion & Weems seems to have really upgraded his overall game over there as a main option.

I still believe he can be a wing off the bench as I have said for years. He has talent but not a consistent drive. Mid to late 20s when he loses some speed he is done if he does not learn more.

Re: Terrible Terrence Ross Needs a Change of Scenery
He has fallen off but personally it just means we can sign him for a bargain next year. Then have him developed as our first guard off the bench. People seem to forget we need good role players, and not just star players. He may not be starter quality, but he sure as hell can be a great bench player for us.
