Re: Not exactly 'shorts'....
As I've said before i would have prefered Chandler. Still AAA's advanced stats and efficiency are impressive. P

Re: Not exactly 'shorts'....
So Prince off the table now? I didn't really like the idea of an aging vet being played behind Nic and i spose Gee is fine. Hopefully he's not a total scrub. Who knows, maybe he'll play hard for a winning team and be a decent guy off the bench.

Will he still go after Prince if he is waived?

Neither Kaman or Mcgee can play the four, so he would just sit on the bench. Also...chemistry.

I would have no problem with having a 7 ft tall player available at need if all it cost was signing him to a minimum contract. Also it would allow the team the option of not exercising Kaman's option during the offseason by having an alternative

Re: Not exactly 'shorts'....
The only thing I remember about Gee is the Dame hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat the Cavs.
The guy who comes out a winner is Meyers who now has a real opportunity for PT behind LA and Rolo.
In the past, every time he has a chance to play he gets hurt. Portland no longer has the big man
depth to cover an injury up front unless they opt for a 10 day contract or a bought up player.

You still have freeland who practiced yesterday. 4 solid bigs.

Looks like there was no 2nd round pick just the future 1st and the 3 players
I did not think they had any 2nd's til like 2030 -- LOL

Re: Not exactly 'shorts'....
Perkins traded from Thunder but he will be bought out
Now he would be a good fit for the Blazers -- bruiser can rebound

I know Portland has had bad luck at the center position, but the Blazers currently have Lopez, Kaman, and Freeland, plus Aldridge and Leonard able to play spot minutes... I'm not seeing the need.

We have a tough schedule, don't see us being higher than 3, lower than 4. My guess is LAC, HOU or DAL

Which team is ideal?
Personally Dallas scares me the most out of those teams, they came pretty close to beating sa last season and they've gotten more talent where they needed now. Lac would be ideal, they aren't a great matchup for us in recent history but I feel like they aren't a top tier team and over the course of a best of 7 game series we could do far better against them than we have during the regular season. Also I think Doc is an overrated coach, he won in Boston with a ton of talent but from a schematic point he's not much better than any other coach on a western playoff team other than maybe Mchale. Houston is seemingly beatable since we've done it already but I worry about the revenge factor against them. They'd come out with something to prove against the Blazers and Ariza could give la more trouble as a quicker more agile player than Asik or Dwight did I think.

wut?
Ariza is a SF and he's shorter then Chandler Parsons. If the Rockets assigned him to cover LMA, it would be a disaster for them. He wouldn't do any better, probably worse, then Terrance Jones did in the first 2 games last year
as far as the 1st round matchups, I won't worry about them. Blazers will have to play a good team in any matchup and the West this year will probably be a perfect example of "careful what you wish for"
I remember last season that Houston fans were really hoping to draw the Blazers. After the seeding and they did, they were brimming with confidence. After game 2....LOL

I am not in the business of piking and choosing who I'd rather have the face as that can bite ya in the butt, but Dallas doesn't scare me at all. Weakest Defense behind the Clips, no rebounding. Rondo looks lost out there, they got no bench and Dirk is old as hell. Did you see him trying to defend the PnR on Westbrook? I felt like they should've used the mercy rule, but no they went at him for 5 straight possessions.

Dallas scares me for one reason - Rick Carlisle.
