We definitely need a player like T-Rob to shore up to the PF spot, but I don't know how I feel about a multi-year deal. I guess it's fine if it's like 2 years, not fully guaranteed, and under 1 million though. We can give him a trial run and push him to up his game before seeing if we want to sign him long term.

I think he's a good signing. He's like a slightly bigger Tristan Thompson, very active on the boards, very scrappy and also very athletic. Statistically they are pretty similar too, per36 both average around 11ppg and a block a game. Thompson averages 4.7orb vs TRob's 3orb but overall, TRob is a better rebounder per36.

I look at this potential signing like this though, Thompson is looking for a max deal which I don't think he'll get but he'll still be paid handsomely whereas we may be able to lock up TRob for significantly less. For players who are only 4 days apart in age, similar physically and average roughly the same stats, I think we could get away with a bargain here.

depending on the length and team option year....

The Morris and Robinson should be put on a short leash though... as precaution. I'm worried they'll command/dominate the locker room.

I doubt we ever look at a Duffy client as long as Sarver owns the team.

Not dominate the locker room, but continue to push family, togetherness, and loyalty in the locker room. You play harder if you love and respect the guy next to you... also makes it more fun. Funny... in the movie its used as a joke.. bit, EVERYBODY LOVE EVERYBODY is a good mantra to have within a team... worked last year. Rob loves the twins... the kind of love that would make you run through a brick wall for someone. So we know players on this team who are VERY close are the twins, Archie, Bled, Tucker... lets hope this continues to spread.

I don't think our FO is prepared to do anything more than a 3 year deal and probably dollars along the lines of Marcus' contract.

The Mo. Bros are a good locker room presence from everything I've heard. I don't see why adding a close friend would worsen our chemistry. They all know it's a business-- I doubt they get butthurt if it doesn't work out, unlike Dragic did when his brother sat on the pine.

He's a free asset, anything he does is a bonus.

Might play a Louis Amundson role.

probably a 2 or 3 year deal at 3M a year per

As a backup power forward he's what we need REBOUNDS

As Pat Riley says NO REBOUNDS NO RINGS

Plus you get a chance to take a flier on a guy who Portland fans did not want to lose at all, who has potential is young and can improve

Robinson is a guy McDonough would go for, I fully expect him to become a Sun. Especially with the Morris connection

The thing is he's active, he's not afraid to play D block shots get physical bang around get rebounds easy shots he's what we need. Plus he's young goes with the youth movement. The signing considering he would have a support system with the morris brothers, combined with the opportunity to grow with us with this young core makes sense

He has been waived and he has been in the NBA with 3 teams in three years. He will sign for the minimun, not more than that. He can be out of the league very soon, our offer can be 2 years with the second one like a team option.

Went to look for some Thomas Robinson highlights. This seems like exactly the kind of guy that we need. I know this was career game for him, an outlier for sure, but he hustles, he runs the floor, plays with size and isn't afraid to make bold defensive plays. Also seems like he's going to take advantage of every opportunity he gets.

Sign him, McD!

He plays like a 6-9 PJ Tucker. Just super scrappy

Ideally an Ed Davis type deal would be perfect but I could see the FO making a bigger commitment for TRob because his rebounding is what we need and he fits the mould.

At least you mentioned it was an outlier. The guy backed up the twins in college, and has been cut by multiple teams now, so I don't know how I feel about committing dollars to him for multiple years, but if it isn't much money, I guess I don't care, as long as it doesn't somehow squeeze Warren out of the rotation since Marcus will probably get more minutes at the 3 instead of 4 if TRob gets minutes at the 4.

When did he back them up in college???? He was actually the #1 on Kansas not a back up
