Kirilenko has played in just seven games for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2014-15 NBA season, averaging just 5.1 minutes per contest in those appearances.
When he was traded to Philadelphia back in December, the 34-year-old didn't even report to the team, which led the Sixers to suspend him. CSNPhilly.com's John Gonzalez described the circumstances surrounding Kirilenko's release:

ESPN's Marc Stein suggests Kirilenko will be able to find work in the NBA if he wants to:

It's hard to blame Kirilenko for not wanting to show up for a team that is in the midst of a lengthy rebuilding project. Now that he has the freedom to explore all his options, perhaps Kirilenko can serve in some capacity for a contender looking to add versatility to its rotation.
But based on his essentially nonexistent time in Philly and his diminished role in Brooklyn, Kirilenko will likely be hard pressed to find a huge part in the Association for the rest of the season and beyond.
