People really need to let go of this line of thinking. It was already reports a couple weeks back that Taj's ankle WILL NOT heal fully during the season and will ONLY HEAL AFTER the season ends. His ankle will never be 100% all season but they take all the precaution they can and help him stabilize it as best as possible for him to play on it. Again, he will not be 100% ever and it has nothing to do with Mirotic.

I realize people love to make up conspiracies, but it is never correct ever.

Help me understand how his ankle will heal in the offseason by not playing, but during the season if he doesn't play it will not heal.

This I am not sure of since I am not an orthopedic physician. This was something he mentioned during one of his interviews a few weeks ago. This and his thumb injury. Whatever orthopedic physician the Bulls have/associated with (and I'm sure he has gotten multiple opinions) told him that and thus thibs/Gibson never let it out publicly until then. It may be something that would take months to heal fully (kind of like what happened to Noah in the CHI/PHI playoff series a few years ago where Noah never fully recovered from that ankle throughout the off-season and only recovered some time after the off-season ended hence couldn't participate in the FIBA or olympics or something like that) yet surgery isn't required or anything.

They should have sat him until it healed a long time ago. It would be different if he was winning games for them or if they had no depth at his position. If rest is what it needs to heal then rest him for 6 weeks if they need to. If what they are saying is he can't hurt it worse and he will need surgery eventually that is a different story. However, he appears to continue to hurt it worse and worse.

It's more of when he rolls it again, is when he misses games. Like I mentioned before, 6 weeks may not do it and it may need something similar to what noah needed which was at the time an entire offseason as well as the rest of the playoffs and more, that is more like 6 months, not 6 weeks. Whether some fans dislike gibson or not, him sitting out games isn't good for the team as a whole (Mirtoic is not good enough). Him sitting out many months will not do the Bulls any good and thus won't be a top 4 seed for sure. He has to play through it, and as I mentioned before, the team physicians and FO know much more than the fans know (despite fans feeling otherwise and feel the fans know more of what to do).

You still fail to realize what I typed in my post for you to mention the bolded, so i mentioned it again now.

Before going overboard and overanalyzing it again (which I'm sure someone will), I'm not saying it will take exact time that Noah took of 6+ months or something, but it is very likely it will be a few month thing at the very least and it could be longer

Taj rested his ankle all summer. It hurt him last spring, he rested over the entire summer, he hurt it again Game 2 of this year. If 4 months rest during the off-season did not get the job done, then 6 weeks during the season likely will not.

A twisted ankle doesn't take 4 months to heal. Which brings up the real questions. Are his ankles shot (arthritic, for example; or something more going on then a sprain)? Should our biggest long term health worry for our bigs be Noah and Gasol, like everyone thought, or should it be Taj? Taj has also had Plantar as well. I sure wish that the topic of conversation for the Bulls players could be a little less about injuries but...is what it is as they say.

Yes but I don't know how long term that is a worry. He has one year left on his contract, he will be 31 when his next contract begins, he is a player who more than most depends on athleticism (his skills are not great), and he is already slowing. By then he would surely be at best a 3rd big and maybe a 4th. I wouldn't go out of my way to re-sign, and certainly not for a lot of money.

I agree with you there. I think that may be a minority opinion that we have, but I believe it is the correct approach.

I think people will be ready. The new-toy shine is off Taj.

Hey, Wolves played Memphis close the next night. They are on a KG high right now.
