I don't think this is true at all. I think Nene is fine being a 2nd or 3rd option role player. He never strikes me as a guy who is focused on getting his own shots. He loves to pass and he seems genuinely happy when other players get involved.

My only issue with Nene is his apparent insistence on playing exclusively PF. I'd really like to see Gortat at C for 33 minutes a game and Nene at C for the other 15 minutes. Nene can play another 13 or so minutes at PF alongside Gortat. The rest of the PF minutes go to Humphries and Pierce.

All part of the same problem I am describing.

But you can believe you have 180 different view if you want.

We agree on Nene needs to be used at center and for me that means off the bench. I guess they could start together but Nene would need to come out early. And Gortat should be the center most games down the stretch.

Whatever. You just got done saying the Wizards should try and move Nene because he can't be "2nd fiddle" to Gortat. I'd say my stance is quite a bit different.

If you want to say it's all part of the same problem, fine. It's just your usual attempt to be on both sides of every issue so you can say "I've been saying the same thing all along".

I'd be beyond frustrated if I were Gortat. He turned his play around after that mid-season slump.

He's playing really well right now and still can't get time in the 4th. How can you not be frustrated when you're going everything right and still don't have the support of your coach?

Just try harder I guess. LOL

I don't know Miller. As for him slumping, not sure how much of that was him and normal ups and down of the season vs them not calling Gortat plays. Last two games, seems to me like there was a good bit more PnR with him and Wall.

Goes back to the video interview what I posted of him a month or so again where he was saying over and over...

I'm trying to do what they want.. and its just not working for me... its just not working for me..

Tough time to be a fan right now. You want them to win but I want Randy gone. Hopefully this get worked out in the near future so we can move forward as a team and as fans.

Hammer is not in the mood to joke around.

He was like.. MEH.. we almost lost the game.
Its only one win.

I have a feeling he is going to stay chippy for a while.

I hope he, PP and Nene are getting on the same page and starting the gel so they can help head this team to a higher level of play.

Gortat has been a guy who doesn't take adversity well.

He gets too low during the lows and too high during the highs.

Historically speaking.

I would rather have that attitude then John's after we lost to the Sixers. To parapharase, "Oh well, the Cavaliers lost 6 straight, everybody goes through these types of streaks." We can't beat anybody with a pulse if we stop playing every time we get a big lead or our second unit gags it away. It's happened all year and puts a lot of pressure on the starters.

In the last win he had 39 minutes. Good for two reasons. He should play that many minutes and Seraphin only played 7 minutes (he was a -9 in those minutes).

I would definitely like to see his minutes north of 36 - just my opinion.

Marcin Gortat was super short with the media tonight. Understandably so.

Over last 7 games his stats:

14.1 ppg 13.7 rpg 1.3 bpg on 61 FG%.... still being benched in every 4th Q when other team goes small playing Nene over him. :noway:

Man.. Gortat has not been a happy camper this year.

I'm sure he can't wait for Randy to be gone.

Gortat really is serious about basketball and just wants to dominate and win. It totally eats at him that even in a game where he shuts down Whiteside to 2 rebounds 10 pts while posting 17 rebounds and 14 pts and 2 blocks, Randy has him riding the bench in the 4th

Like Simmons said. Randy is just a terrible HC.

Here`s a thing: try to reevaluate the 2005 draft class and place Marcin somewhere in there ... Webster, Bogut, CP3, Williams, Frye, Bynum, David Lee and Hakim Warrick ;-)

What do you think?;-)

Happy Hammer is gone.

I don't think he will smile the rest of the year. Those loses and Randy has left a bad taste in his mouth.

22 and 9 and 3 blocks... Not enough to get him to happy again. Specially given MEM sat starters. He is most liking insulted.

Hopefully Randy is learning something even if he would never admit it.

This team starts with Wall and Gortat. From there, you need one more main piece to focus around. Some nights that 3rd piece is PP, like last night and some night Beal, like the night before. Let the rest of the team fill in around that.

Doing that gives the team form.

Hammer has worked his way back up to 11th in WAR at 4.49 right on the heals of Noah.

Last year he was 3rd at 10.37

Randy has so misused him this year. Just another reason to fire him.

Coach Randy Wittman, point guard John Wall, and shooting guard Bradley Beal all agreed that Gortat’s offensive prowess – he scored 23 points on 10 of 11 shooting along with 14 rebounds – was predicated on his willingness to dive to the basket off pick-and-rolls and his ability to finish at the rim. Gortat concurred that he is at his best rolling to the basket off screens, but the center emphasized he didn’t play any differently than he usually does.

"They were passing me the ball," Gortat said bluntly. "I was doing the same thing I’m doing every single game and they were just passing the game."

Gortat has played much better the last month or so. Him and Wall have been the only two players you've been able to count on night in and night out for the squad lately. Good to have Hump back as well for the last eight games or so to see if the team can get in a rhythm at the end of the season much like they did last year.
