I feel as the story is transitioning from them being on the run to a more civilized setting which can lead to better character development and give the writers a chance to explore these character's in more depth. I am also a avid fan so I might be coming off as a homer, but I am intrigued by where the story is going.

Here's what happens in the source material.

Spoiler:
They settle in The Alexandria Safe Zone and Rick becomes a leader there. A zombie horde gets in and in the chaos KArl gets half his face shot off. Then we meet Negan who leads a war against Rick's camp. Negan suddenly realises in the middle of a fist fight to the death with Rick that the idea of bartering that Rick is suggesting could work and stops fighting for Rick to sneak attac him for the win. Rick locks up Negan instead of killing him and then the book time jumps two years to where it is just Rick, Carl and Andrea. Everybody else has disappeared in a way not explained and the new threat comes from humans living out in the wild wearing zombie skins to hide among the dead. That's the source material. Trust me, it isn't good.

Arrrghhh why did I click on the spoiler sign..LOL. But seriously though I've read all the comics up to this point and I understand what you are saying, but there are some variables that you are forgetting that might add some spice to the story. Judith, Carol, Daryl, "Everybody Hates Chris", and Sasha were never in the comic. I know that your main qualm with the show is the story line and how close it mirrors the comic, but I have to say the show is still highly entertaining to me at least. And I know people just don't tune in to watch the Zombies. I feel like it has more to do with the struggle these characters go thru and the people they lose along the way, which strikes a cord with most people as a story about hope and life continuing amongst death. I think that's what have people intrigued because it's a question of how will they work up the strength to carry on heart ache after heart ache. It's really a tale of being Strong and staying loyal to your Family while surviving a Zombie Apocalypse.

Talking about survioring the zombie apocalypse where would you head?

Me Florida keys population under 25k with a military base so the island should be mostly clear and full of weapons, there's only a couple of bridges so you could blow them and setup a safe zone, and being in the south and so close to the ocean so you could fish and farm for food

I concur. And you could build a camp close to the ocean so you can have the Ocean at your back and whatever Zombies who were going to attack have to approach from one direction.

It all depends on the rules for Walkers. Once they freeze do they regain energy? Seems to me that anywhere with snow and ice should be zombie free right now considering they have little prey and no protection against the cold. If that's the case head up north to stock up and then make the move down south by boat to an island.

Also, no matter how hot it is wear leather on the road. Zombies shouldn't be able to bite through it. I haven't even seen a walker bite through a shirt yet.

I agree with those that suggest the show is definitely faltering due to the source material. I feel like this is why they're doing a spinoff series that won't be tied to the source material. Hopefully they do that show better.

I feel like this one needs some kind of major shakeup.. but they're too limited to the source material, which is just the same **** over and over again.

And for those calling for Sasha's death.. she seems to pretty much be turning into Andrea of the comics.. meaning she could be safe for a little while.

Did some reading on this and screw AMC for slashing the budget and firing Frank Darabont all to maximize profit. I hope he crushes them in his lawsuit.

Why would anyone want to get rid of Sasha? She's attractive and becoming a badass.

Last night was technically a slow episode; nevertheless, I loved every minute of it. Will you know who show up for the season finale? :o

idk , i think the source material is good enough up to this point. the plot falling off a cliff would be like 2-3 seasons away if they kept it somewhat parallel to the comics. and wtf happened to Morgan ....wasnt he creeping behind them earlier in the season, looked like he was about to be reintroduced

I wonder if Rob Kirkman knows how the comics will end. If he does, I wonder if he's shared the ultimate ending with the TV guys the way GRRM did. Though I wonder if they're kind of going the way of True Blood, where they just riff off the source and don't actually follow it. There have been some departures from the source material already.

Morgan should show up soon. You know who won't be this season. They're going to finish out this ridiculous set up. Rick's blender gun was the signal for the next set of villains. They're following the comics.

Kirkland has said he wrote the final scene but hasn't shared it with TV.

The source material is okay because you get through each repetitive issue much quicker when you're reading it versus the show taking their sweet ass time to drag it out over a few episode arc. And then, yes, it falls off a cliff.

I expect Morgan to meet up with them in Alexandria before too much substantial happens there, and it will probably be some cliff hanger at the end of this season where he makes his presence known. Just a guess though.

I figure issue 83 is the end point for season 5.
Spoiler:
The scavengers probably took Rick's blender gun. Safe Zone will be attacked by them then overrun by a Zombie horde which leads to Carl being shot in the freakin' eye.

Can't wait for Rick and Michonne to finally get it on. They both need it.

Daryl needs to just die already.
