Probably not noble. Probably just scared he won't be remembered for his shiny stuff.

I like the one about swimming with Great White Sharks. There's hope.

Dear Ted,
Please do something. I know in you are not one to act too hastily, but in your heart of hearts you have got to be thinking that the roster construction and coaching is not headed in the right direction. A first round playoff exit is a step back. The fan base is tempted to crawl back in a hole. Please bring in an analytical GM who can draft well and build an organization that teaches and develops players to their full potential.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12565861/2015-front-office-rankings-top-owners

So Ted got ranked 16th in owners. Not bad for a new owner.

Specially given the team he took over was a total train wreck and one of the worst franchises over 25 years.

Clippers owner is new and 11th, but that team was already put together when he got there. Train wreck behind the scene with what happen with their owner but CP3, Blake, Jordan.. that was already a good team.

BRKs new owner failed and wants out.

SAC got a new owner right ?

Hasn't he owned the team like five years now? Is that still a new owner?

You tell me. Compare him to how long other owners have owned teams and let us know. Pretty sure only 5 years would be on the newer side of ownership

Caps losing in the playoffs? You don't say.

Attendance is up though, so no worries.

I feel like a GM should only get to hire then fire a certain amount of coaches. Because after a certain number, there's only two possible things wrong - (1) every coach has been bad and that's the reason the team has underperformed consistently, in which case the GM is not doing his job of hiring quality coaches. Or (2) the team is not properly constructed which means the GM is not doing his job of assembling a good roster.

Or it's all Abe's and Gilbert's fault. Don't forget that one.

Did you guys read that blog post on Ted's take about him having this great dilemma of deciding on who to watch between the caps or wizards? What a bunch of b.s. Hope he enjoys watching both teams lose at the same time.

And I heard on the radio he's raising the prices 30 percent on season tix....man what an a-hole. Team isn't that good and hes raising ticket prices.

How many should that be ?

Its always been an interesting side to EG tenor with the Wizards. It doesn't explain everything but it shouldn't be ignored either.

E Jordan was Abe's pick. That was for 5 years. Felt like longer. lol
Flip - EG's pick under Abe - But Flips stay was under weird conditions because injuries, Gungate, and team sold and blown up.
Randy was an Interim transfer from Flip that got extended because he installed a top D, Wall support, and got to the 2nd round.

Almost all of his term under Abe was with EFJ who was Abe's hire and Abe's guy not EGs. Which was a problem from the start. EG tried to bring in Thibs but it didn't work out. At least you can see the kind of coach he would have picked.

So that's a really mixed bag to do a head count on coaches he hired. One legit hire that was under Abe who was them fired after coaching the Gungate Wizards year, the blow up rebuild the following year, which was year one Ted. Then 17 games into the following year let go while still under contract. Flip got some hot steam stuff and never really stood a chance. That turns into Flip's assistant interim turned extended short contract after 2nd round playoffs last year. And a failed attempt to get Thibbs.

Makes you kind of appreciate some of the vanilla moves for stability over the last two years. Things were kind of a hot mess.

Whatever the time is for the next head coach, it should be under much better conditions for that coach then any of this mess.

Leonsis ranked 16th among owners? Hmm, right in the middle, just like his team. Probably about right. I'd probably rate him lower because he kept Grunfeld on the job and allowed Wittman to be awarded the coaching job without so much as talking to another candidate. But, he did help negotiate the new TV deal, so that counts in his favor.

I like the Fox News like repetition of that nonsense as if saying it over and over again is going to make the idea any less ridiculous.

Then again you never know, perhaps Abe's ghost even haunted Ernie into making the Vesely pick.

getting rid of Flip and replacing him with Randy is the same thing as still having Flip. To me...2 of the 3 are not satisfied.
