Yeah, the worst part as an AZ fan is that this team will be decimated and really young next year. It would be nice if Ashley and Tarc came back, but they could both be gone.

Ashley was disappointing this. Not sure if he recovered mentally before breaking his foot.

If any of the Big 4 were to come back I'd hope it's Rondae so our athleticism doesn't take a massive hit but he's probably gone.

Trier-PJC
York-Simon
Allen-Smith
Anderson-Comanche
Tarc?-Ristic

Looks more like a Lute team...

Anderson should be a stud. He averaged over 7 rebounds all three years at BC. He's been practicing with the team for a year. Ivan Rabb, 6'10 PF/C (who is projected to be the #3 pick in the NBA draft in 2016) has narrowed his choices to AZ and Cal, but it sounds like he may be leaning Cal.

Isn't Trier a SG? And Simon a PG? I was wondering if PJC expects/deserves to start, but I just don't think his size is big enough on D to play a ton of minutes.

But three freshmen coming in who are in the top 37 according to these rankings http://espn.go.com/college-sports/baske ... order/true will be kind of like when we brought in the class of Tarc/Ashley/Jerrett though of course these are 1/2/3 as opposed to three bigs.

But it will be pretty exciting and at least we will definitely have some veteran presence in Anderson and York at a minimum.

I cant wait for the day that Tarczewski leaves to play in Euroleague. We deserve better.

Neither Trier or Simon are PG's but Trier has the best handle so I just put him there. PJC had his moments but I think he's in that solid backup role. Allen can flat out score.

Tarc gets hated on but we are much better WITH him. If he leaves maybe Zimmerman comes back into consideration??

Wish Wiltjer came here but TJ Leaf >>>

For those scoring at home, Saturday’s loss to Wisconsin marks the fifth consecutive time Arizona has lost in the Elite Eight. It’s also the fourth time Sean Miller has come a game away from his first career Final Four. One of the first things that struck me when the bracket was released was that Miller’s path to the semifinals could go through a former boss (Thad Matta and Ohio State), a former understudy (Chris Mack and Xavier), and the team that beat Arizona in overtime in last year’s Elite Eight (Wisconsin). That’s exactly what ended up happening. And it wasn’t just that it was Wisconsin that beat Miller’s team; it was that the Wildcats got shredded by Frank freaking Kaminsky — again.

Miller’s decision not to foul to extend the game in the last minute, on a Wisconsin possession that ended with Sam Dekker drilling a bonkers 3, was probably a bad one. But that’s not why Arizona lost. Outside of maybe getting some more offense from Stanley Johnson, Arizona played as well as could’ve been reasonably expected. But for all of their size, the Cats don’t have anyone who can guard Kaminsky. Zeus “Zeus” Zeuszeuski is too slow, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Brandon Ashley are too small. When that’s the case, teams have to decide: Do they double-team Kaminsky and hope Wisconsin’s shooters are cold, or guard him straight up and hope he doesn’t score infinity points? Arizona tried the latter approach in the first half and the former in the second. Neither worked.

Arizona was good enough to win a national title this year. It may sound crazy, but I even think it would’ve been better off playing Kentucky to go to the Final Four. Unfortunately, it had to play Frank Kryptonite, which is why it’s dealing with yet another heartbreaking March.

This whole article is a good and funny read. And the video of Kaminsky is hilarious even though he pretty much demolished AZ twice in the elite eight in two years. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/ncaa- ... e-winslow/

As far as Ashley and Tarc maybe going, that may have created the pause here......would you rather lose both and get Rabb? Or have one stay and not get him?

http://www.azdesertswarm.com/recruiting ... nouncement

Earlier this week, Ivan Rabb, No. 2 power forward, No. 7 overall in the nation, trimmed his list just two: Arizona and California. These have been the clear favorites to land Rabb for quite some time, but he just made it official in the formality of the recruiting process. This week, Rabb's high school, Bishop O'Dowd, was playing the Open Division California State Championship vs Mater Dei High School, Stanley Johnson's stomping grounds, where he won four-straight state championships.

Rabb's announcement was expected to come after the championship game. With California as the clear favorite and the game being played at Haas Pavilion, home of the Golden Bears, the entire coaching staff made an appearance, alongside many Cal fans anticipating the announcement.

Bishop O'Dowd topped Mater Dei thanks to a made free throw by Rabb in overtime with just .8 seconds left on the clock. Cameras swarmed Rabb in anticipation of his decision. "I was planning on making it today, but I'm not sure right now," Rabb told reporters. "I don't want to rush into a decision... I just need to talk it over with my family."

Now, this could be the sequence of events Arizona needs. Maybe, just maybe, after the Arizona loss, Rabb learned that Brandon Ashley and possibly Kaleb Tarczewski will be declaring for the NBA Draft, making him the focal point of Arizona's already No. 2 ranked recruiting class. Complete speculation, but it could happen.

Many of you are probably saying, why would Rabb choose California over Arizona? National exposure, compete for a national title, state of the art facilities, strong fan base, what else could he want?

Well, the Oakland product does prefer to stay close to home, which is Cal's best selling point. But as of right now, California is working on building a monster recruiting class that could even top Arizona's. With a commitment from Rabb, California would be extremely close to landing Caleb Swanigan (No. 4 center, No. 14 overall) as well as Jaylen Brown (No. 1 small forward, No. 2 overall).

With those three in place and the return of Tyrone Wallace, Jordan Mathews and Jabari Bird, Cal could suddenly challenge Arizona for the Pac-12 next season.

Rabb said he will announce his decision soon, so expect it to be sometime this week. But as of now, California seems as if they will land the No. 7 recruit, barring some sort of mind blowing epiphany Rabb has.

I think Ryan Anderson would provide just as much competition for Rabb as Ashley would. He was 2nd team all ACC and that was 2 years ago. If I had my choice of Rabb, Ashley or Tarc I'd take Tarc because Tarczewski/Anderson are experienced and big frontcourt. Rabb and Ristic are talented but unproven.

You know much about Ray Smith? He seems like the best athlete coming in but tore his ACL last summer. We're losing a ton of athleticism on the wing...

Aren't Allen and Trier pretty athletic? We are mostly losing size and length on the wing, but I imagine we will improve our perimeter shooting which could be a huge upgrade, because that hurt us. If one of Ashley or Tarc come back to play with Anderson or if both leave and Rabb comes and starts with Anderson in the frontcourt, then I think we should have pretty solid depth.

But what about this?

Kaleb Tarczewski has decided to remain at Arizona for his senior season.

Tarczewski averaged 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 26.0 minutes per game as a junior.

Tarczewski is the 18th ranked junior by Draft Express.

Why don't you like him? Did you really want Ristic to start? I think it will be good to have another senior who's been with the team his whole career.

Because he's meh. A bigman that can hit FT's.
Ristic is meh too, but i'm ok with it... he wasnt a top C from HS

Sadly, we made a poor choice in that recruting pool (Kaleb, Ashley and Jerrett)
